Re: What is the best way to replace a electrolyt on ATX mother board
To all you who replied ,
Well I have found a way to easily remove the caps.I watched this you tube video from Adamant IT , where he is recapping a MB.
First I used my Atoyou soledring station , but it did not work so well.
Then I used my KSGER with active solder points. It really works very well.Temp of 480 C is doing a really good job.
The lead free solder is melting really quick.Of course I use flux also and Stannol solder 60/40.
When the caps are out , I put some solder...

What is the best way to replace a electrolyt on ATX mother board
Hi guys ,
I have this working ATX MB.It is some sort of old one.
But I want to keep it in use - it still works.
But when cleaning it inside , I noticed a bulging electrolyte.
With a little leakage on the top.
I am not really sure if it is a multi layer MB.
I`m going to replace the cap - but what is the best way to do it ?
I`m thinking to cut the cap into half - and then leave the 2 wires soldered
on the MB.
And then soldering the new cap to those 2 wires.
So , no de - soldering...

I`m not really sure , but is there not a switch that must be activated to let the player know , that the drawer is closed ??

Re: I cannot erase the whole bios chip with AsProgrammer
Well , I`m not really sure what caused this , to not work.
Just a bit of explaining. At first I used Win 7 32bit and there didn`t seem to be any problems.
Then , of course , we had to switch to W10.At that point I decided to use the 64bit version.
And that is when I noticed that things did not really work smoothly. The drivers for the CH341A that I had used on Win7 32b , now gave me some trouble on W10 64b.
I downloaded the latest firmware for the CH341A but still not a good work process.I...

Re: HP 4530s 6050a2465501-mb-a02 - start onlz for a second
@ktmmotocross ,
Just want to ask somethings.Have you already replaced the AMD GPU 216-0809024 ?
Did it fix the board ?
One more question : when the board is powered up and working , how much do you measure for VIN voltage ??
Is it dropping by 3 volts ?? So VIN is 15.8x volts ?
Or is it just a stable 18.88 volts ?
Thank you

HP 4730s Inv RAMONES (6050A2465501-MB-A02)
Hi all ,
I have these original main and EC bios bin.
Can someone check them to see if they are corrupted ?
Thank you...

Another 4730s HP laptop and some questions
Hi guys ,
So , I have this 4730s laptop - Inv RAMONES (6050A2465501-MB-A02)
When I got it , I checked for shorts and checked the resistance.I could not detect any shorts but it would not power up.
So , I flashed the main and EC bios - and after that it would start normally.
However , after several starts (at different times/days) I now notice that the DC jack led will sometimes blink continously. And then nothing happens
There is no 3V & 5V -
Sometimes the laptop will power up all by itself , as soon as I plug...Last edited by SMDFlea; 05-21-2021, 06:54 AM.

Re: Swap HP laptop intel mobo for AMD mobo
I suppose that you have installed the correct vga and graphic drivers for this AMD chipset ??
The screen cable fits perfectly on the screen and on the motherboard ?
You may also install the KB and touchpad drivers for AMD

Re: question about Lenovo ideapad 100 - 15IBD
Thank you for the feedback.
Yes, everything is working good. The screen is excellent.
The power supply I use for all the laptops.I bought the different connector pin set for different models laptops.
With the most laptops the current is more or less stable. But with this Lenovo pad , it is changing rapidly , almost every second.
I'm not sure what to think about it.I put the latest Win10 on it and no problems so far.

question about Lenovo ideapad 100 - 15IBD
Hi ,
Now I have this Lenovo pad 100 - 15IBD.I did check for shorts , and if voltages are good.
It starts good and all posts are good as well.
As I don't have the adapter , I connected to my power supply with the correct
pin adapter for this Lenovo pad.
On my PSU I see that the current is fluctuating all the time.So , it is not a stable current.
My question , is this because it is a SOC with the PCH on the same chip ??
I understand that the demand for power (energy) can vary each second.
Or is there something...

Re: why i cannot read 37kHz clock on any board with Hantek 2x20MHz
@ktmmotocross ,
If you have a dmm that also can measure frequency , you can at least check
if you have some signal from the X-tal.
I tried today with my dmm - and it gave me a reading of about 21 Khz.
So , I know that there is a fequency coming out.I don't know what the real frequency must be.
I didn't measure how much volt it is , though.

Re: why i cannot read 37kHz clock on any board with Hantek 2x20MHz
Are you sure that there is a 37Khz signal from the X-tal ?
And what is the voltage of the 37Khz ?
What is the sensitivity of your oscilloscope input ? Microvolts or millivolts ?
Are you measuring on a test point on the motherboard ?

Re: HP 250 G7 - windows clean install
I cannot say what is the problem.
But maybe this can help.
What version of Win10 you want to install ?
Have you (re-) flashed the bios chip.If , yes , with the latest firmware ?
For 64 bit systems ?
For Win10 64 bit , it is adviced to use a 16 GB usb stick to install.
What version of Rufus did you use ?For me Rufus 3.3 works oke.
What is the message when you get the error ?

Re: I have shortage on caps on GPU and on MB
Sorry , if my post was not so clear. This is what happens.
When I connect the power supply , 19 V set , the voltage drops to ~ 10 V and the MB is drawing around 3 Amps.
The used power is around 35 Watts. So there is a dead short.
There are around 20 caps shorted to ground. Also caps soldered on the GPU ASSY.
Some of these caps on GPU get very , very hot.
So , it seems to me that the GPU will have to be replaced.

Re: I have shortage on caps on GPU and on MB
mcplslg123 ,
Thank you for replying. What I mean is that the caps on the AMD Graphics IC show short and get very warm /hot.
So , the caps that are soldered around the GPU core on the green area of the IC .
But other caps on the MB show a short also.My guess is that the Graphic ic is defective

I have shortage on caps on GPU and on MB
Hi ,
I have this MB - 4730s_RAMONES-MV-6050A2465501-A01-0330-Final_2011
Although on the MB it says it is version A02 -
Many caps in the vicinity of the GPU and also on the GPU - AMD itself measure
that they are in short.
Is this a clear sign that the GPU is defective ??
The MB starts / fan spins and then after some seconds it stops spinning.
Then MB starts and after some seconds shuts down - it keeps repeating
No activity results to display
