    Pavillion DV7 white screen

    Hello everyone

    I've decide to learn about electronics, i'm from the communications and networks wolrd!

    I'm in process of learning!

    I have problems with a Pavillion DV7

    Motherboard is a DAOLX8MB6D1 Rev. D (LX89)

    The problem is white screen

    when power it on i can see for a second the logo of HP and then it fade to white
    If i connect external monitor via VGA i can see the image in the external monitor, whereas via HDMI there is no image
    When I connected the VGA cable and the HDMI simultaneously, it shows 3/4 parts of the screen ok, and 1/4 white top
    a few minutes later it has fade to white and I had no more image in screen or via VGA.

    I have the schematic for this MB

    I'm looking at the LCD connector section

    Any advice?

      So it works on VGA only? Try to run a graphics stress test when on VGA.

          I do have VGA output to external monitor, still white screen laptop
          No HDMI output, no HDD attached

                  For hdmi output it might need to boot in windows complete, for driver - higher resolution.
                  My guess is problem on the lcd maybe.

                      I agree. Check that connector is fully plugged in on back of Lcd panel

                              measure voltages on lvds connector. Some voltage might be missing

                                  Don't know exactly how to measure them, i mean, the values.
                                  By the way, u were right, i think my LCD is bad.
                                  When i firmly press the left side it show the image, but the image displayed is displaced 1/3 exactly from the upper side, and the first 1/3 is full white or white patterns.
                                  Is it fixable?

                                      Nope you have to changed the lcd panel unfortunately.

                                              To ask here... I have few devices with white screen problem, actualy nokia 2220 and some fuji? camera, and try to understand what is common problem to cause that issue.
                                              Yes, both devices work everything else probably ok, I mean, I hear intro melody and keypress click sound, DTMF tone, power on off... all ok.
                                              On desk is nokia 2220 slide, and I check all screen connectors and components arround it, measure voltage drop, but all looks ok. I suspect on slide flex cable, but it look ok and white screen is not interupt while flexing board, pushing conectors, and sliding up down. In attachment...

                                              I bought a MacBook A1990 with no screen. I bought it knowing the motherboard was defective but wasn't sure what the problem was until I received it. It actually turns on but as you see from the attachment, it has vertical stripes, on an external screen!!

                                              The board is neat. Not opened before for sure. Just a little dust, nothing more.

                                              Recovery using wifi can be opened, as can also be seen in the photo but it doesn't go all the way through after connecting it to a wifi. It downloads the initial Recovery files but never completes the rest of the...

                                              Another TV topic!!
                                              I got this sharp TV that when I first plugged it in it showed the sharp logo and then went to the input screen. This was about 30 seconds and then it showed white screen. Now I can't see anything but white screen. This has a separate TCON and Main.

                                              The TCON is getting 12V and several parts are as well but the VGH line is only .5Volts which I thought is totally incorrect.

                                              Am I on the correct assumption that the TCON is bad somehow if I'm only getting that voltage or is there something else I should check?...

                                              This device came in due to the screen flickering if you use the touchpad or external mouse. It will flicker black when this occurs. If you use the touchscreen, the behavior does not appear. Also, if connected to external monitor, the external monitor is not affected by the flickering. I did a good amount of research on this, and concluded that it is due to the display driver. HP does not offer Windows 11 drivers for this model so I got the replacement drivers direct from Intel.                                               Hi all, I’ve got a problem I hope someone can help me fixi.
                                              I have a Panasonic TX-48CX350B tv , it powers up ok but the screen is blank, the backlights are working, there’s nothing else though, no picture or sound. I’m not sure what the fault is called whether it’s BLANK/ BLACK/ or WHITE SCREEN I’ve actually came across this before on a similar tv but just ended up scrapping it, I will upload pictures of the boards etc , if anyone could help me I would really appreciate it...
