    Asus Gaming FX553V No power

Hello, i'm trying to fix Asus Board
Model of the Laptop is: FX553V
    MB: (GL553VD Rev:2.0)
when i check the mosfets power i found the second one is dead.
after i changed it the mobo still not working.
the first power mosfet not pass the 19V, and there is no voltage on the gate.
how i can know the reason of loss the voltage in the first and second mosfets gate?
i'm searching for the schismatic but can't found it any where on the web

Check for shorted cap after the second fet.

        thanx pro,
i can't found any data sheet for this mobo online.

        BQ735 is the charging ic?

i'm trying that using my power supply, there is no rise on the amps. so i guess there is no shorted cap.
but i will be sure using my multimeter again

BQ735 is the charging IC, by reading the data sheet of it i must read 19V come directly from the DC jack to that ic. i can read just 2.45V.
            is that normal?
please excuse my rare knowledge. i'm still beginner.

                  REALLY!!
i just do it on the first and second mosfets. to know if there is a cap shorted in the mobo.
honestly its a very useful way, and helping me in so many dead mobo.

and i will try to change the first mosfet. but you don't thing that my problem in BQ735?? as there is no voltage in the gate of the first mosfet?

Probably is BQ735, its always better to change the two mosfets together, even if one is tested working.

                          No.

Both IC have different pin out

Most likely some fet or cap is shorted. Did you checked resistance to gnd on B+ line. there should be a resistor just after 2 dc in fets and on that you can check resistance to gnd. You can remove that resistor and then apply power and see if 19v reaches on those pins of fets where you were not getting any voltages.

                              Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

Hello everyone, I have an ASUS FX506LI laptop that does not turn on, and I need help diagnosing the issue. Here is what I have checked so far:
                              Initial Symptoms:
                              • The laptop has no power at all (no LEDs, no fan spin).
                              • No 3.3V or 5V present on the board.
                              • The power button (NBSWON#) reacts but only changes from 0V to 0.5-0.11V.
                              Power Rail Checks:
                              1. Charger input (FETs PKCH2BB)
                                • Drain: 20V, Source: 0V, Gate: 0V (FETs not switching).
                              2. BQ24780S Charger IC:
                                • VCC and ACDET are present.
                                • ACN / ACP, ACDRV, BATDRV, LODRV, HIDRV, ACOK, SRN, SRP – all 0V.
                                • Shunt resistor has 10Ω to ground.

ASUS TUF GAMING Z790-PLUS WIFI - BIOS Help
                              by grimacelord
                              Hello,

I have spent the last hour on this and I guess this is just over my head, so here I am.

I have an ASUS TUF GAMING Z790-PLUS WIFI motherboard here that needs to have the BIOS updated in order to accept the latest CPUs.

The BIOS chips seem to come as a set of two: GD25B64ESIG and GD25B128ESIG. My guess is one of them is a fail-safe for the main BIOS? I really don't know. Or one of them is ME and other is BIOS? I don't know.

Anyway, I took dumps of both chips and then downloaded the latest update for this motherboard from ASUS's website...

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                              Assuming...

Hi all, I have a Asus TUF Gaming F16 (2024) FX607J motherboard with liquid damage. The oxide on the board was removed before giving it to me. This made it more difficult to repair. Also they did not give me the power supply.
When I connect the 20 volts with the bench power supply I get 4.3 volts on the main power line. If I remove the power sensing resistor I get 20 volts on one side (first 2 mosfets are ok) and 4.3 volts on the main power line (see photo). How is this possible?? I thought the 4.3 volts was coming from the battery mosfet so I unsoldered it and tested it. It is ok too. I...
