    Sony Vaio Black Screen

    Hey guys. I have a Sony PCG-71713L that I am trying to figure out if possible. It has no output to screen but posts on external vga. I have tested powers to screen and found on pins 5,6,7 no 3.3v and trying to figure out. I have checked all fuses on board I can find and traced screen cable pins. I do have 19v to screen but need to trace source of 3.3.
    Any suggestions

          Thanks SMDFlea but that area seems to been 19v rail and is good.
          I have no 3.3v on pins 5,6, and no backlight only a quick flash on startup other than that no life to screen. I have checked every fuse I could find and seems ok. I need to backtrack somehow to find source of my 3.3v

              Test voltage on each side of the fuse after power on, ive had a few fuses troll me. You do get a brief flash, maybe youve got a corrupt EDID .

                  just a suggestion.. if you have a spare lcd screen try it .may be you have a defective lcd screen. or try your lcd screen to other unit or if you have an lcd screen tested use it first before digging to something complicated...

                      Weird issue with this tv. Was streaming to the from a computer when it stopped working and the screen went black. Ever since then there has been. o image. Just a black screen. The audio works and yhe backlights do come on when it's powered on, it's just a black image. It presented like a backlight issue. So I finally got around to getting new backlights and a backlight tester. All of them test the same as the good backlights with the same voltages. There are no blinking lights. Just the white led at startup and when buttons on the remote are pressed signaling it's receiving from the remote....

                      Sony XBR-75X950G seems dead with a black screen but backlight and sound is working and no blinking red lights

                      I have a 2019 75" x950g, and while playing a movie, the screen suddenly went dark in a weird way, where it faded towards one corner into being fully black. Now the TV turns on, and the backlight comes on, but there is nothing displayed except black. Sound still comes through the TV speakers, and i have tried doing a hard reset using the volume - and power buttons while plugging the display back in, but it did not fix it. I can confirm that pressing buttons on my remote is still doing "something" because I'm hearing sound still, even though the screen is black.
