    Compal LA-9411P boot issues

I have a motherboard from a Dell E6540 laptop here (with CPU and memory), when I connect a original Dell PSU (tested with a couple), the powerled from the power button is on (without pushing the button) and motherboard starts directly but the laptop does not start any further. The fan is spinning a few seconds, turns off in a second and within a second it spinning again. The led from the power button is off for the split second.
When I use the battery only, I need to push the power button and the same is happening as with the AC adapter.

With the battery or AC adapter, the laptop does not react on pushing the power button (laptop should turn off).
When I press the power button, the voltage drops to 0V and when I release the button it's 2.8V again.

    The following voltages are there:
    5V on USB
    1.35 on the memory
2,80V on the power button, when I press the button it's 0V
    U52 and U53 I have 3.30V
    U46 ECE5048-LZY I have 3.30V
    U51 MEC5075-LZY I have 3.30V

Any idea about this issue ?

Nintendo Switch Oled HEG-001: Second-Stage Boot Failure
      by privato89
      Hello everyone,

I'm facing an issue with a HEG-001 motherboard that is unable to complete the Second-Stage Boot. I'd like to start directly with my conclusion, which is the decision to replace the MAX77621AEWI chip, and understand if it could be a correct evaluation.

Before I dive into the process that led me to this decision, I want to mention that I have a fully equipped lab where I can perform any kind of tests.

      Let's begin:

Following some guides online, I tried to understand how the Boot phase of the Nintendo Switch works, and what are the...

Xiaomi router freezes at boot after re-capping
      by hinisa
I'm using Xiaomi Router 4A gigabit edition as wireless repeater. It worked fine for 2 years or so, but last week, wireless started to disappear.

When I unplug/replug the power, it was working fine for a day/half a day or so until it freezes again.

After testing with different power supply adapters and concluding it wasn't the issue I finally opened the case and this was the situation:

Anyway I proceed to clean up the mess and replace all caps but unfortunately it made the situation worse. Now router can't even boot, either it freezes during...

Asus UX3402 / Q409Z - No sound, no TPM, Boot issues: Bios flash?
      by i19
      Hi
I got an Asus UX3402 / Q409Z and after a BSOD I lost sound, tpm 2.0, and if it turns off it can take HOURS before I can boot again.

Reading here and on reddit I figured its a BIOS issue, and that reflashing it may fix the problem.

I want to use an CH341A (new model with 3.3v) to flash it.

My problem is that I'm not sure if the SOIC8/SOP8 clips will attach to the chip and hold properly? (haven't opened my laptop yet, I'm basing this assumption on a picture from the same thread I attached).

Any tips on how to connect to it? Maybe something...

WD Sentinel DS5100 (NAS) boot issues
      by DeanWy
      Hi all,

I have a Western Digital Sentinel DS5100 NAS system which has stopped working. It has dual BIOS. I bought the system second hand with an already broken primary BIOS (it rebooted multiple times until second BIOS was used).

It worked until recently. The system was idle in Windows Server 2012 and a BSOD occurred, I think it was 'critical process died'. Thereafter it didn't boot, it just sat there with no video output and fan speed at 100% (there's a proprietary Windows driver by WD which controls the fan, outside of that it always runs at 100%).

      There...
