Dell XPS L322x dead charging circuit

    Hi guys

I'm looking to fix my XPS 13 L322x, the laptop still works 100% and im fairly certain the battery is ok, but the charging circuit as you can see in the images is blown. I really need a schematic, as the only one I can find is for sandy bridge, however the one I have is ivy bridge. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable would know if the charging circuits are the same or not. Or maybe if someone knows the components which are blown, I know its unlikely but yeah any help is good help

    Thanks

Apparently schematics for Quanta D13B is not available. Use Quanta D13, this section should be similar enough.
Pictures are very blurry but it looks like PQ16 and PQ17 are blown. Those are part of the AC adapter identification circuit, so without them you should have a warning about AC adapter not being recognized when turning on and the battery will not charge.
Those components should not blow like that so I think 19V got sent into this circuit (center pin and charger voltage got shorted togother). Make sure the fault is cleared and you don't get 19V on the PSID of the power connector.

      Hi,

I think I'm in trouble now, I ordered some MMST3904 and FDV301N chips to replace the blown ones. And before i changed them I thought I'd make sure they were correct so I took close up pictures of the blown components to read the markings and I think I've just bought the wrong stuff. Attached are the images

Does anybody know if I can use the components I have, and if not which ones do I need. I'm not that good at reading smd markings

            The 1st part is a BAV70W https://cdn.badcaps-static.com/pdfs/...d417ea34e6.pdf

            The 2nd i`m not sure,it could be a AO3409L .

Rip so I did buy the wrong stuff. Can anyone confirm that the second component is a AO3409L

Here is a better image of the component. As far as I can tell it says A9EA and 2X on the side (the E has an underscore)

Ok cool. I can`t seem to find the AO3409 locally but I did find the DMP3160L-7 as a cross reference. Do you think it will work? It seems pretty close (I have attached the datasheets)

                              Hi All

Been a while since I have been here, and a bit rusty.

I have the above laptop motherboard that was working and now the charging circuit is faulty.

Have 19v in fine until it hits PU4403 - not shorts I can see and thermal cam reveals nothing.

I have swapped out the ISL9538 and also the two mosfets (PU4403 and PU4405). Have 2.8v at the power switch, which pulls low when pressed - charging light comes on and goes straight off

Below are measurements (pin names are per the datasheet for the ISL95338 (couldn't find one for ISL9538,...

ASUS X54H laptop thinks it's always charging even with charger unplugged
                              by flat-earther
The charging indicator light on my ASUS X54H laptop is always on even when the charger is disconnected.

Windows also shows ''Plugged in'' when charger is not connected.

This problem started year ago gradually, when unplugging the charger the charging light took several seconds to disappear, then minutes, and now almost always on even when unplugged for an entire day.
Strangely, before sometimes immediately when plugging in the charger the charging light went away, and later came back with it connected.
If I let battery run out and say it has 3% Windows will...

                              Hey guys,

I've seen several questions about this exact issue, but I've never found the fix, so I would appreciate if we can start over the whole debugging process again from start to finish, for my specific issue.

In the BIOS setup, (see pic) the AC adapter is detected with the correct power rating, the battery is stated as charging (when plugged in, of course), and the battery health is stated as "Excellent" (as expected, since this is a brand new battery purchased a couple of weeks ago). However, the battery never charges (the percentage never increases)....

Dell Latitude 5530 not properly charging
                              by 0x0null
This Dell Latitude 5530 will not charge when turned off. when turned on and in bios it will charge properly and the adapter wattage is shown.

I noticed that when in bios if the charger is unplugged the bios still reports the laptop as charging and the charging light in front of the laptop stays on

When charging, PL4401 has a stable voltage of 12.8V however when plugged in but not charging the voltage alternates between 4v and 12v on PL4401

                              Please help

                              Greetings,

I am working on a Bolt-L UMA MB 17938-1 board for a Dell Latitude 3500 and it is not charging. Plugging in the barrel jack and USB-C both results in about a .1a draw at 20v. I probed around and checked every capacitor I could find, as well as the inductors, and I got no shorts, so I checked to see if anything was happening under the thermal camera when plugged in and I see a slight bit of heat being generated by the Intersil 9538H IC, which appears to connect the battery to the charging line, but I may be wrong about that, I am not very strong on reading schematics, I mostly...
