HP 15-AB289SA Black screen after replacing screen

Hi Guys, My daughter crakced the screen on her HP laptop, so I bought a new screen, I removed the bezel and disconnected the cracked screen and carefully re fitted the new screen. I powered it up and got a black screen, so I thought I would fit the crakced screen to check it was the new screen and when I did power it up it was also black! I then realised I had not removed the battery! so I guess I have blown a black light fuse?

I have had a look on the board but none of the components have identification on them or by them, can any of you help please. My daughter is going mad as she needs to do her home work on it, so poor old dad is under pressure to fix it

the mainboard model is DAX1BDMB6F0 rev. F
      First, find its schematics file.
explain the symptoms such as: spinning fan, blinks, and so on.

        Hi Mielta.

OK, So I take it that pin 1 of the connector has the tiny white dot next to it?

Have you checked that it actually POSTs to an external display first?

Now Quanta following as Asus with no marking code on PCB.

Check this link, but it quite confuse me, need boardview to compare it, but i think it doesn't present now.

Sorry for delay, I have taken the voltages as per Mielta request:

With adapter plugged in but laptop not switched on:

                        1, 19.6v
                        2, 19.6v
                        3, 0v
                        39, 0v
                        40, 0v

With adapter plugged in and laptop switched on:

                        1, 19.5v
                        2, 19.5v
                        3, 0v
                        39, 3.3v
                        40, 3.3v

                        Thank you for your help

turn the laptop on and measure voltage on pins 4, 5, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38. take a lot of care not to short the pins together.

Try the laptop with the external monitor attached. Using the VGA or HDMI if you have that.
Check you connected the monitor to the board, with the cables pushed in properly.

Just a question for you, where did you buy your screen from?

The cable looks loose, make sure it is in right.

That is right. Maybe, you do not properly insert the cable into the screen connector.

                                  Hello,

YouTube video of the problem encountered: https://youtube.com/shorts/q7TLNv36LUo

I am a pro and I have a problem that I have never seen despite my 7.5 years of experience on my own and my thousands of repairs, on a customer's Dell G3 15 3500.

On this PC I have already changed the complete palmrest because the keyboard was no longer working properly.

I also changed the screen because the PC fell and the screen was broken.

I changed the battery with a new and original battery.

I also had corrosion/oxidation on the...

                                  Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....
