I have asus n61jv and hp pavilion g6 all intel processors, the problem I have with them is that, computer works perfectly but there is no image or text on screen. I have checked 3.3v to Lcd and its ok, I get a grey display. can anyone point to me to some things I should check. I have already changed display cable and screen but no results.

First step always , is to try an external monitor , and the second is to acquire the original display cable , as we see many fake or chinese crap forgery .
Third step is to check visually around the display cable inlet on board , searching for a burnt transistor or resistance (in case you don't have the schematics ) , or take the necessary measurements if you have them .
Some Laptops also do have specific screen requirements like HD , WXGA , Etc , etc , and standard replacement screens simply won't fit , so better acquire the original .

Basically the owner is a computer shop and they brought it to me with two screens. They said the repair shop they use could not fix it, so I thought i would try to see if I am better than their current repairer!

Just bought this for 10 bucks yesterday hoping to fix it. The guy said water dropped inside from a dehumidifier hose and it started showing black and white vertical bars then went blank. When I got it home and turned it on it came on fine and displayed correctly but I was noticing faint vertical bars in the image. After a little bit I turned it off and back on and it was a black screen again. I opened it up to check for water damage and corrosion but didn't find anything of the sort. I have a iphone XS that came in for a screen replacement, the screen was badly cracked, and inside missing scues, on the back of the screen still the blue protector, the screen was a LCD. So we replaced the screen and all good, installed the screen and we noticed that pressing the screen with a bit of force but not excessive, the phone dies. After plugging the charger it turns back on, but again if you press it it dies. Everything works as it should except that it is too dark screen image and the backlight is blue is it normal with bleu backlight ?
