    Re: Kbc ene ite

Only certain ITE models required reflashing because there is a memory inside that contain the EC firmware, in other architecture this is stored in a separate memory chip or in a main bios chip.
Most of asus models reflash it automatically

        Only in Asus models?

        What about Dell, Lenovo,....

And if the chip is blank or corrupted, how can it initiate the sequence for auto-reflash?

        Thanks for your answers.

I'm afraid there's no an easy answer.

i have done this only 2 times once on acer with no display and on lenovo which i have changed kbc but would not come on.it is tricky and hard to do but I am sure you will be forced to do it.I hate to do this kind of repairs; perhaps getting old.

Main reason would be when you are replacing KBC with new one (because it's burned), and you will not always find pre-programmed chips for every model.

Until a few years ago the EC BIOS was either integrated in the main BIOS (single flash chip on the board) or had its own little flash next to it. Then they came up with the idea of integrating some flash memory inside the EC to do away with the external chip. That's why they need to be programmed.

                    by STKR123
As the Elitebooks (820, 840 all gens) only show flashing Power LED and flashing CapsLock (continuously) + a very soft "ticking" noise near the DC Jack,
I wonder if re-flashing the BIOS might be of any use here.

As far as I understood, steady flashing either means insufficient power or a CPU/GPU/Motherboard issue. I use the original 65watt power supply.

There are so many threads out there, but most of the solutions involve flashing codes, which I dont have or claim that you MUST use the original power supply, do a hard reset, reseat the RAM, clean the RAM,...

Is it possible to upgrade from a Vestel 17MB97 main board to a 17MB110 Main board?

I suppose the real question is whether the existing pinouts from ether a 17IPS71 psu are cross compatible with a 17IPS12 psu? If they are then the exchange of the main boards should have no issues providing the screen is compatible with both main boards. Obviously you can change the screen configurations easily enough (providing you have the correct files) for the main board. Why may you ask would I do this? Well a lot of the smart features are no longer working on a Hitachi 48HBT62U main board I wish to give it a new lease of life!
Obviously the same LVDS connector for the screen connection...

Last Sunday I was watching a dvd and fell asleep for about half hour, when I awoke the tv screen was black and couldn't get the dvd menu to show, so I changed the input to antenna and had sound but no picture, turned it off. LG 55NANO77SRA TV – Menu scrolling by itself even after removing button board (Main Board EBU66792103)
                    by ygorsan
                    Hi everyone,

I’m looking for help with a persistent issue on an LG TV model 55NANO77SRA, which uses the main board EBU66792103 (also used in LG UQ80 and NANO75/NANO80 series).

                    🧩 Problem Summary:
                    • The TV keeps scrolling through the menu or selecting items by itself.
                    • I removed the physical button board (the entire panel with power and volume buttons) and also disconnected the flat cable (CN202) from the main board.
                    • The remote control is not in use (batteries removed), and the TV still shows the same behavior.
                    • I

ASUS TUF GAMING Z790-PLUS WIFI - BIOS Help
                    by grimacelord
                    Hello,

I have spent the last hour on this and I guess this is just over my head, so here I am.

I have an ASUS TUF GAMING Z790-PLUS WIFI motherboard here that needs to have the BIOS updated in order to accept the latest CPUs.

The BIOS chips seem to come as a set of two: GD25B64ESIG and GD25B128ESIG. My guess is one of them is a fail-safe for the main BIOS? I really don't know. Or one of them is ME and other is BIOS? I don't know.

Anyway, I took dumps of both chips and then downloaded the latest update for this motherboard from ASUS's website...
