Hoping someone can help with the following strange problem, Audio works perfectly on Dell Inspiron 15R 5010-1886 when played through its speakers, when headphones are connected sound works OK for a minute or two then becomes very distorted, not the type of problem caused by a faulty headphone jack so most likely to be an issue with the Audio chip output to headphone socket, trying to source Schematics or Openboard View files but looking for possible causes in the meantime, could it be caused by a bad cap in the Audio circuit?, thanks guys

Re: Strange Audio problem onDell Inspiron 15R 5010
Must be an IDT audio codec. Drivers are garbage, either you loose your time trying to get it to work, or you just move on.
I've also seen some strange hardware problem with those: audio cutting out after a certain time, or not having audio anymore without any reason. On both Linux and Windows. You should try on both OS first, to make sure it's not a Windows driver issue. Sadly the driver under Linux are pretty bad too so it could still be a software issue if it doesn't work on both.
The only advice I can give you is to use a USB sound card for headphones.
Schematics attached, check if it's the right one.OpenBoardView — https://github.com/OpenBoardView/OpenBoardViewComment

Re: Strange Audio problem onDell Inspiron 15R 5010
Tanx for your help guys, dont think its a driver issue as i've tried various revisions, happened on both Windows 10 & now Windows 7 which i've downgraded to, as its my own Laptop and its not a huge problem the USB Sound Card seems like a very good option, can pick them up for little or nothing too, tanx again guysComment

The Problem: This player has a toggle switch to select between Stereo, Mono R, and Mono L. Regardless of the setting it outputs the sound to both the L&R audio jacks. In the Mono R position, the audio output level is normal (from both the L and R audio output jacks), in the Stereo position the audio output is about half the volume, and in Mono L, it's about 3/4 the volume. Something about putting it into Stereo mode is causing the volume to drop significantly and I can't figure it out.
The player processes the audio signal using two different reference frequencies. The "R"...2 Photos -

I have a problem with this MOTU audio card, a traveler MK3, the connection to the computer is via firewire, the card is recognized by the computer (both mac and win) but I have no audio output, on the front there are a series of LEDs including the clock (44.1, 48, etc.) and that LED at the time of connection usually remains fixed telling me the clock frequency set on the computer, now at every start the LED in question remains flashing in most cases, sometimes it becomes fixed, other times it disappears, without any sign of operation, I exclude problems with the firewire chip,...-

by tk5epHi,
I've been given a non working Stanmore JN3018 loudspeaker.
The power supply part works normally, I have all voltages on all chips. But no sound is coming out.
I tried to track the audio signal from the inputs to the loudspeaker.
Unfortunately, it's not easy, as most signals are PWM. But the analog part is working, and I can track the PWM at the inputs of the TAS5508c.
At the TAS5508c output, I only have pulses which I can find on the input of the final amplifier TAS5342a.
Can somebody help me to resolve this problem ?
Thanks-
