This is the 4th or 5th hp laptop in this series with a bad dc jack that after is was replaced the machine is still dead.

Any help or direction is greatly appreciated.

perhaps the problem is not in dc jack

I have been doing several power jack replacements a week since 2009 on various models and brands. This includes surface mount and through-hole soldering. I doubt my "technique" is the issue, when the plastic insulator in the center of these jack fail it must be killing something on the board.

u dont have voltages behind dc jack on board ?

same thing did happen here... Have you figured out any sort of solution already?
