hello all, i have this old laptop c640 and the problem is VTT, VCORE voltage blinking, led ac (plug logo) ok, but led (power logo) blinking. 5 and 3v are present. what shoud i check? any help appreciated. thank you.Comment

I have same problem
Replaced charger ic but mosfet voltage goes 3v-8v, LDO 1.6v then 0v, AC detect is ok it show 1.66v but this laptop can run with batteryComment

1) can you link the schematic?
2) which charger IC is onboard?
3) ACDET is too low.
4) check the usual 2*DCin mosfets. If N-channel mosfets, the gate must be ~25v to enable.
Often the 2nd mosfet gets killed.
5) remove the 4k resistor on ACDRV to confirm if gate voltage is not ~25v. A leaky mosfet will the boosted gate voltage down.Comment

Remove the battery.
Attach the proper adapter.
What are the voltage to ground readings for the first dcin mosfet? This is AM4410N.

With no power, meter in resistance mode.
Check the resistance to ground of the LDO pin #4.Comment

Maybe bad ic connection, i see it not fully filled with tin
And DLO pin show OL when resistance mode and 0v when plug a charger

After resolder charger led on but no charger voltage from inductor (low side charging mosfet gate 0v, resistance 23Mohm and high side charging mosfet gate only 10.43v, resistance 30Mohm and my battery voltage is 10.96v = 0%) also LDO 5.25v but after resistor R6007 only 0.24VAttached FilesLast edited by crot69; 01-03-2023, 11:23 PM.Comment

The charging indicator light on my ASUS X54H laptop is always on even when the charger is disconnected.
Windows also shows ''Plugged in'' when charger is not connected.
This problem started year ago gradually, when unplugging the charger the charging light took several seconds to disappear, then minutes, and now almost always on even when unplugged for an entire day.
Strangely, before sometimes immediately when plugging in the charger the charging light went away, and later came back with it connected.
If I let battery run out and say it has 3% Windows will... -
Does anyone have a schematic for a Toshiba Tecra A40-G-138 (FUZ2SY1 A4607A motherboard)?
It's not charging through USB C, the mosfet was dead, I've replaced it but still not working. The charger is putting 20v out and the laptop is showing it's charging so it's partially working.
The original mosfet was a AON7422G, I’ve replaced it with a AON7430 which is a similar spec

Looking for some help with this one if anybody can assist please? I have an HP Probook 470 G4 Laptop which recently started to intermittently failing to turn on, with intermittent white LED light(charging LED) by the charging port when it should have been charging and showing an orange LED instead. Definitely some sort of gradual failure. Now the laptop fails to power on at all, no charging LED, no Power Button LED either - seemingly dead.
Stripped down to the bare motherboard. The original HP battery, when disconnected from the motherboard, is reading 0.00v - possibly some sort of protection... -

I received Toshiba Qosmio X755 that has a charging problem and I'm stuck trying to figure out the problem.
- When battery is unplugged i works without any problem.
- When I plug in the battery after plugging in the charger, it works correctly and the battery is charging.
- When I plug in the charger after inserting the battery, it stops working. ( voltage dropped and consumed 8A, reaching the maximum capacity of my bench power supply for 5 seconds, and stop working after )
Can you help me diagnose the problem? I have attached...
