    Mac Air 2014 No Backlight

I bought this dead mac with a No display faut, when checked i see that it's booting fine but with no back light .
I found a Fuse (i think) near the lvds connector, but fuse is fine (photo).
Any help about this issue is much apreciated.

I also have another question (i'm not used to mac), when booting it's asking for a password and email, can i reset this, or i need to format and make a new install ?

    Thanks

Have you taken measurements off the LVDS jack?

Is the backlight being told to turn on? Is there voltage to turn it on? What is the voltage?

Do you have a boardview or schematics for this mobo ?
Or which pin or component should i check for voltage ?

It (almost) never ever is the fuse! That's just garbage.

Look at the Board Repair Videos from Louis Rossmann on Youtube, that should help you.

All the louis videos related to backlight, it's a fuse, the same posted on my first post.

Maybe you see another that is different ? care to share ?

It's usually not the fuse. Check out his video's on backlight repair ... led driver related. He's done several replacements of that driver, usually due to a feedback issue. Without feedback getting to the driver and/or an led driver issue, you won't get a back light.

You'll need your 820 board number. And google ... you can find the schematics and probably a board view too. Watch this to give you an idea of what to look for. It's an older mac in the video, but same concept.

All the others louis backlight problems videos, are with liquid damage boards, this one as not a liquid damage.
What is your 820 board number ?
                Thanks

Re: Mac Air 2014 No Backlight

Liquid damage is not always the cause, and is not a requirement to have a fault. The video provided is a good reference for troubleshooting back light circuit problems.

You must find the "820-####" part number of your board. It's printed right on it somewhere. Then go google that number for a schematic/board view.

Have you tried another screen? you don't mention that test.No backlight faults are moust common on the screen because of faulty cfcls or leds depending of the type.

No, it's not. There are other discriptions as well.

And well, there are no Backlight Videos...

Yes, most is because of liquid damage, but that doesn't mean nothing...
