Perhaps the schematics are not the same as your board. Regardless, remove all power -> meter in DIODE mode. Touch / short the meter probes together and you will hear a tone beep. Next, do the same across each part near the LCD connector that is silk screened on the board with a 'F' prefix. F = fuse.

Each fuse must tone beep which means the fuse is NOT blown. If there is no tone beep, the fuse will be OPEN and the backlight voltage will not travel to the display.

Next, meter in DC volts mode of 30v or higher (to safely measure the backlight voltage). Power up. Measure the voltage to ground on each fuse, on each side of the fuse. You are checking for the ~20v from the power adapter on one side (will always be there). The other side of the fuse is the side of concern for your case. If there is no voltage, that fuse is blown and needs to be replaced. Identify the fuse to move forward with the repair.

F7 appears to be on the underside of the motherboard. I replaced my LCD without first disconnecting the internal battery and must have blown the fuse. I have yet to fully disassemble to override the fuse.
