    Low-voltage Capacitor Replacement in Laptops

    Hi everyone,

I have got a general question about capacitor replacement which I faced in Laptop motherboards.
Let us consider a smd ceramic capacitor connected to a 1.8-volt power or data or clock line. The capacitor is: 4.7uF_0603_6.3V
The capacitor is supposed to work with low voltages such as 1.8v or 0.8v.
Now, what will change in the circuit or laptop function if I replace that capacitor with a high-voltage smd ceramic capacitor such as: 4.7uF_0603_50V ?
Does it matter whether it is connected to a power, data, or clock line?

Does a 6.3v capacitor have better charging and discharging capabilities under low-voltages and high frequencies compared to a 50v capacitor of the same capacity?
