Where can I get compatible capacitor for replacement?

Blew the capacitor on my analytical balance scale using the wrong power adapter. I need help finding a replacement compatible capacitor to buy. Will any 100uf 40v capacitor work as a replacement?

You can get the capacitor from anywhere, like Digikey, Mouser etc. 100µf 50 v 105° are very common Hope nothing else got damaged like that IC.
Just measure the size to get one that will fit.
The ic seems to be a LT1172cs8

cool thanks. ill get the 100µf 40 v 105° from digikey. Can you tell me why you recommend a 100µf 50 v 105° instead of a 100µf 40v capacitor? For the ic how did you come with the LT1172cs8 model? It does have the same dimensions as the one on my board. What does the 940 numbers mean on this ic? if the smd components further down the pcb board from the blown capacitor have continuity starting from the power input to those components does that mean they are not shorted or blown including this ic?

there are standard values and unusual ones.
standard ones include 35v and 50v, 40v is going to be harder to find.
50v is better anyway because it's the maximum so you get more headroom with a 50v part.
        try using panasonic FR series.

The IC was probably damaged too so if you haven't already made an order I would add it as well.
(The reasoning being it is rated for 40v input just like the capacitor so if the capacitor failed the IC very likely did too).

Thanks for the help everyone. An update on this, Ive replaced the capacitor with one of these panasonic 100 µF 50 V and the scale didnt turn on. 😐Ill be ordering the ic and testing that out next. https://www.digikey.com/en/products/...FC1H101/266332

It was the switch regulator chip. I replaced the chip and now the scale works

                BD35231 compatible replacement
                by m4a2t0t
Anyone know of a compatible replacement that has an adjustable output? The BD35230 has a fixed output of 1.0V and would be acceptable but I cannot find it anywhere. There is also the BD3523 which has an adjustable output but its also nowhere to be found. I could probably source them from alibaba but I dont have that much time and I dont want to make a huge order.

Or perhaps you know how the BD35231 can be modified to output 0.95-1.0V? The board does have empty pads for an adjustable IC but Ive only been able to make the output go up.

                Thanks for any help...

Help identifying AMCH073 regulator or finding a compatible replacement
                by taurtnt
                Hi everyone,
I’m trying to identify a step-down regulator marked AMCH073. It’s used on the PEX power rail of a graphics card. I can’t find any datasheet or info online.
                Here’s what I’ve observed:
                • It has a QFN-16 footprint, similar to NB670.
                • Pins 1, 2, 15, 16 are connected together and go to the inductor, so likely SW (switch node).
                • Pin 9 is connected to GND, which doesn’t match NB670 (where pin 9 is SW).
                • Pin 8 also seems to be tied to the same GND plane.
                • The chip only says AMCH073, no manufacturer logo or other markings....

                Compatible diode replacement "V6 18" ?
                by badcappo
Hi there, looking for a compatible replacement for a diode type labelled "V6 18" from a dead Panasonic plasma TV power source. Possibly a V6 600 volts diode as seen here: https://electronics.stackexchange.co...nt-diode-v6-88 ?
                Thank you ...

klipsch kda-500 amplifier suitable power supply capacitor replacement ?
                by r2digital
I have a klipsch kda-500 that would turn on and allow me to get into the web management but it was picking up a lot of noise from audio sources so i decided to replace the smd caps on the power supply along with radial one. Some one was in here before me and they basically burned the bottom side of the traces off for the radial cap but i was able to repair it without any real problem. I thought i did a good job sourcing out replacement caps but apparently not and now i can't get the power supply to turn on it just constantly try's to keep turning on. Attached is a picture of the power supply before...

                Discontinued Capacitor looking for Replacement
                by rwkish
Capacitor has been discontinued (EGXF101ELL331MM20S) all of the replacements I have found have are smaller than 0.709" Dia (18.00mm). I would like to use the same size or at least close to the same size Capacitor. 19mm would be too big as they would touch and not be able to through hole mount. Tia...
