There might be an option to enable/disable it in BIOS. If so, try disabling, restarting, and then enabling it to see what happens
Otherwise, boot from a Linux disc or flash drive (e.g. Mint, Ubuntu, or another of your choice) and see if the touchpad works. Then you will know if it's a hardware or software problem.Comment

Hi i have one Macbook Air 2020 where touch ID is not working (it's not scanning fingerprints). Touch ID was working before, there is no error message during scanning fingerprint it's just not scanning on screen you can see only fingerprint but there are no red updates as when it's working. Power button is working fine.
I've checked boardview and also schematics but i'm not able to find anything related to TouchID ... i have similar issue on a2338 where there was problem with PP3V0_TOUCHID and after replacing UT610 it was working but here i'm not able to find anything related to... -
On the right bottom side it has a start/stop button (normally it is illuminated, when I took the picture it was blinking I took at the wrong time

Hello everyone, I bought a Microsoft Surface Pro 5 and the touch doesn't work. According to what the previous owner said, the screen stopped working after an update. The screen has no physical damage, and the touch works for 1 second when it turns on and then stops working. Got a Thinkpad X380 Yoga with unknown history for cheap via ebay. Only screen was broken, rest working according to seller. As I had a another working screen from a donor X380 with a broken mainboard, I figured I could make a working Thinkpad from two broken ones. However after the screen swap the Touch and Pen feature still doesn't work, neither on Windows 11 nor in Linux (tested with various distros).
