    macbook Pro 2011 15" A1286 won't power on without battery

    Hi, i just got this macbook, its wont power on without battery,
    because i have no battery inside.

    tried other battery, and it works, laptop charges, and start up normally, but if i remove battery, it will not work, i have 85W Power supply,

    what can i do?

    i cant do any resets..

      post mainboard code: 820-xxxx. if it works on battery should be easy to fix.

              Same problem here...
              Motherboard 820-2915, won't power on without battery.
              If I connect battery and power it on, I can remove batt and it will remain on if connected to DC, but it won't start only on DC.
              It can powers on only on battery normaly.
              Looks like common problem because I have two mobos with same issue.
              Already changed U7000, but same problem persist.

                      I have green/orange light. Everything works fine, except power on without battery.
                      I've just tested with ASD and it passed without any error.

                          Really can be a multitude of causes for this sort of fault; hopefully nothing involving the SMC.

                          Do you have the boardview & schem ( I don't have that one in my small collection )?

                              Problem was with DC adapter, works fine with new one...

                                  Hi, I was given this laptop by my uncle who said:
                                  • It would occasionally shutdown if not plugged in
                                  • battery had been replaced
                                  • touchbar would "strobe"
                                  I disconnected touch bar components and strobing and sudden shutdowns were fixed. Recent updates were installed to the OS.

                                  After fully charging the battery, with bluetooth disabled, no LAN cable and only wifi enabled, the laptop stayed on (screen on) for about 6-8 hours. Allowing screen to turn off while not in use, and it went for over a day.

                                  Hi, my dear friends., Maybe this might be a stupid question or something I missed or do not know. I have 2 MacBook Air A2681 (Indentical color & EMC #), both LCD screens broken. Before ordering the LCD Screens I confirmed both worked with their respective batteries & AC Adapters, & they did 100%. The LCD Screens came in today & I replaced LCD for the 1st A2681. (Removed Battery Terminal cable for both Laptops before installation of LCDs). Perfect Screen & Booted up fine. But it did not work with battery. I checked the battery connector & it was seated in well/perfectly....

                                  Symptoms: not turning on. There is only the LED battery indicator working. The owner of the laptop told me this problem arrived one week after having changed the battery. He then managed to power on the laptop only once, and then it never powered on again.

                                  Tests already made:
                                  - Battery is charging when laptop is plugged in. The LED battery indicator turns white after a couple of hours of charge, indicating that battery is fully charged. However, laptop won't turn on anyway, with or without AC plug.

                                  Hi guys I have a Macbook a1707 with motherboard 820-00281, without liquid damage that behaves strangely, with the battery connected the Macbook does not turn on and the USBC meter stops at 5v in loop, when I disconnect the battery the Macbook turns on and works fine, I have already tried to replace the battery twice without success, as soon as I connect the black cable of the battery the Macbook does not turn on, it stops at 5v and in loop.
