    HP Pavillon DV2000 + TX1000 (same issue) really slow

    HI Everyone,

    I had 2 HP computers that has the same problem. I will only refer to DX2000 the one i work on it for now.

    It's an HP DV2000 with AMD TL-64 processur, 2 GB of RAM, bios updated to the latest, SATA hard drive.

    When i turn on the computer, the bios took 30-40 seconds to start. Windows is fresh installed. The Windows is really slow! It's not a virus problem for sure.

    I don't find any problem and really need help to know what is the problem.

    Here what i've done;

    - Cleaned the CPU heatsink and Fan;
    - Changed Thermalpaste;
    - Added an copper shims on the GPU
    - Tested memory; successfull;
    - Tested CPU (100% 2 hours, L1 and L2 caches) works #1!

    The portable is terribly slow when i'm in Windows. The processor is reacting pretty well, not stay in 100% all the time, it's look like working well. But something is getting the system so slow.

    Did anyone has the same problem, or know how to resolve that issue?

    I also had a HP TX1000, same year, same series as the DV series. I know that prortable is getting GPU problem, my TX1000 wasnt working (i've reflow the GPU) and the computer was coming alive. But same problem has the DV2000.

    Thanks.

    The same bad nvidia chipset is responsible for the slowness.

      How can we resolve that?

      Driver? reflow the chip? Add heatsinc?

      Install another OS?

        Reflow and update to the latest BIOS. Should work for a while... They are crap no matter how you look at them tho, i wouldn't spend much time on them.

        They are going to fail in 3-6 months no matter what you do, short of exchanging the chip with a new one, which is not worth the cost. Not even for people who do have all needed tools. I no longer bother fixing these boards.

          When you ask to change the chip, you talking about the Nvidia chipset ?

            Yes. Genuine fixed revision ones have a datecode of 2010 (not any newer!) and they are hard to get and expensive ($30-$50, sometimes more). There are a lot of fakes which are basically refurbished chips that you will only get 3 months out of.

              MacBook Pro A1708 - CPU extremely slow, locked @ 0.39ghz; fan full speed
              by gjlpereira
              Hi forum.

              I'm working on a macbook pro, model a1708, that is running extremely slow.

              Everything on it seams to work just fine, it just works extremely slow; painfully slow; especially running macos (windows and linux actually run OKish on it, slow, but usable).
              One other symptom of the problem with the machine is that the fan is always running at full speed.

              This machine has been worked on by someone else previously; they tried to repair it, but with no success. The motherboard does have sings of being worked on, but it all looks good/OK; like...

              HP Notebook 15-dy1731ms VERY SLOW
              by nissimezra
              Hi to everyone.

              I never seen something like this. I have HP Notebook 15-dy1731ms motherboard: DA0P5DMB8CO REV C that is very very slow. I tried all the basic, updating the bios, replacing ssd, replacing ram, soldering all coils, reflow CPU power supply but the laptop is still very very slow. Never seen a motherboard that is slow. CPU power suppliers 1.8 volts, the cpu barely getting hot.

              What left for me to do is reflow the CPU and try manually programing the bios chip with programer.

              Anyone have any idea what it can be?

              hi all, I have a problem with my macbook pro 15 inch, late 2011 with SSD, AMD Radeon HD 6770M dedicated video card and Intel HD 3000 integrated card.

              I use the computer occasionally at home and a few weeks ago I noticed that the battery was charging very slowly, I changed the power supply with a new original one and the problem remains. I also changed the battery to a compatible one and the problem persists. Now for a few days I have also noticed that the computer after a few minutes from starting it jerks and becomes very slow. However, this problem arises in several ways:
