    Ipad 3 Mainboard Failure Help :L

    Hi all I have here my ipad 3 wifi which has been working great for years until last month it will not charge any more however it will plug into my computer and work fine and I can move files off it ect. I brought a brand new battery and charger port, to see if that would fix it however it still wont charge. Just wandering as I cant find anything out there on this fault its defiantly the mainboard if anyone has any info or a lead please comment thank you in advance

      Charge ic ? Have you used any shitty chinese chargers on it lately or cables the cat chewed on ?

          Yes I did the charger looked genuine but under the cover its a fake pos im using a samsung one that can put out the 10w needed and it works fine on other devices. Dont suppose you know what the charger ic is ?

                                  Well unfortunately I messed it up resoldering that flipping IC I broke the pad so its scrap ohh well worth a try thanks for the help any way.

                                      If you are interested in trying further head over to gsmhosting, there is a wealth of knowledge there - maybe you can make a few jumpers to get it operational.

                                              Always worth a shot if something isn't working and sometimes even if it isn't working right. Fwiw I don't have the proper tools for this level of soldering either.

                                                  You will need a stereo microscope to be able to see the very fine connections magnet wire for jumpers and a good soldering iron steady hands.

                                                      Yeah my mate has a dentist microscope that I can ask to use hopefully I can work it if not will sell as spares.

                                                          Hello experts ! Have big problem and not understand with iPad Pro 11 3th gen.
                                                          So with power supply work perfectly but if I connect usbc not power on !
                                                          first under thermal can find a short near CD3217 on the 3v3 ACE line ! Take off it then stuck at 5v and 0 amps !

                                                          then I try to change CD3217 with other one from MacBook but the iPad now shout down also the tool for see voltage and amps 😅

                                                          Sooo - our IT got a pile of old iPads that the sales guys have been mistreating. These are free for grabs if you want to try to get one working. Thought I'd give it a try - if I get at least some life to I can give to my kid to entertain during a car rides.

                                                          But the iPad it self - its a 5th gen cellular model. When I initially plug it in it was completely dead. It was not recognized by my Mac nor it started to charge. Disassembled it opened up the battery connector and checked the battery voltage. My multimeter showed 0,7v. Had a spare micro-usb charging board lying...
