Don't do reflow at all, don't stress the chip more than you need, reflow will work in minor cases even if the chip could work after reball.
Just try reball, if it will not work, try change for other chip, that's it

I mentioned it before and I will again. If the chipset is not shorted most of the times it is good for a reball. The main problem is not the chipset but a deformed board due to long exposure of board and plastics that support it to excessive heat.
A lot of times I come across even and to deformed chipsets.

In my opinion any machine around or above 1000$ will serve you well.

To be honest, if you are into some practice DIY machine can be better and more long lasting then cheap IRDA machines, just my 2 cents.

P.S: Doing reballs with Preheater and hotair station 2 years and can do it 100% right every time .

Guide to transplant MEC1503 EC chip and EEPROM reprogamming for T14s gen 2 and X13 gen 2
                      by acedogblast
This is a guide that I am writing for helping others to replace their MEC1503 EC chip if it breaks (or to get around an inconvenient prompt to the BIOS). This forum has been extremely helpful to me so I would like to contribute to help others. I will tell you right now that this task is very difficult to do. You MUST have experience and tools to do precision micro-soldering, BGA reballing, trace repair, and general laptop repair skills.

There are some specialty tools needed to do this task. The replacement MEC1503 chips can be acquired from Aliexpress. Do not buy the bare chips as...

Asus X571GT repair chip replace and tips wanted
                      by Jeroentje
                      Hi

I try to repair a asus Asus X571GT (DA0XKTMB8C0) no power no lights.
I saw a burned (small hole in it) chip (JW10F) proberly a TPS22976DPUR, I removed it, now with power connected the laptop turns on and direct off again, power led and fn will light up.
                      I found on a donor lenovo board a G2898KD1U (wa9y), looks the same ..
Result is still the same, turns on and direct off again, first attempt is with backlight on all other direct attempts are only the power and fn led.

Could it be the chip is to diffrent to make the laptop work again ?

Acer e15-e5-576g-5762 bricked. Bios chip won't interface in AsProgrammer.

Thanks for any help. The board version is DAZAARMB6E0 REV: E. The bios chip is winbond 25Q64JVSIQ1736. W25Q64JV is not available in AsProgrammer -- only BV CV FV or FW_1.8c. The chip won't interface with asProgrammer and a CH341A. When I have this chip on the board, the laptop will not post but when I plug it in to power, the blue LED lights up, also the orange when the battery is connected. When I push the power on button, keyboard backlight turns on and the fan starts briefely then turns off. But I can't do anything to program this bios chip so I bought another one.

                      The BIOS...
