Sony Vaio vgm fw21m Battery not detected

Picked this laptop up for £20 a few weeks ago supposed "motherboard fault" anyway reinstalled windows 7 all is fine apart from the battery, windows says "battery not detected"

Multimeter reports back that 0.00 is output from the battery, so I opened the battery up to check the cells, measuring the plus and minus of the battery circuit I see a few volts, not sure what the exact number was.

So I hooked up a 10v output to the + and - and gave it five minutes, came back and removed the output and measured the batteries again, this time the voltage is sitting at about 5-6v and slowly dropping.

So i'm assuming that the pcb the batteries are attatched to is defective, anyone any info on this or have done similar.

Have read about thermal fuses in these and that the pcb's can sometimes fail but can't find any information directly related.

    Battery is vgp-bps13a

    measure each group of cells.
any below 3v may have locked out the management chip.
sounds like its just a bad pack.
if voltages go out of bounds it shuts off the switch mosfets to the output.
you might try to charge the cells till over 3v/group but if they were way low they are not going to be much use.can also be dangerous to recharge dead cells.

Yes. There is also an EEPROM inside which stores that info, so you can say goodbye to the battery pack.

The BMS system can lock its self when you desolder the cells.
          Does making the battery dead.
In order to cheat it you need your new cells to be at the same value(voltage).
Then solder them in parallel so the bms system wont fell that there are no cells.
After that you take the old cells out.

You need to do discharge and charge a few time untill you manage to see every thing ok.

          You now calibration
Just cook it! It's already broken.

Modification of a Fluke multi meter that uses three AA batteries to use a 14500 lithium ion battery
            by sam_sam_sam
I have had with regular AA batteries that leak this meter is expensive new I already replaced the battery battery clips once and the same thing happened again and I am tried of so it is getting modified to accommodate lithium ion batteries that are the same size excluding the positive terminal and removing the battery clips I will have enough room for the BMS protection board

I going to put 3 lithium ion battery in parallel with the BMS protection board and a way to charge the battery externally and heat shrink the battery pack and use a JST connector so I easily remove the battery...

Lenovo Yoga C930-13IKB EYG70 NM-B741 Battery not detected.
            by mrkmpn
Hello, I have a customer that brought this laptop in after replacing his battery. He said his original battery charge was not lasting long, and after replacing the battery with one purchased from iFixit, the charging worked for about 30 minutes and then stopped, and the battery is no longer detected by windows.

This laptop powers on when the AC adapter is connected, and my USB-C multimeter shows current being used with both ports, but the charging light does not come on, and in Windows the battery icon shows an X as if there is no battery present. If I disconnect the AC adapter,...

Adding a clock battery to action camera to retain date&time when changing batteries Campark X25
            by flat-earther
I have a cheap action camera with an annoying trait, every time I change batteries the date & time gets reset and I have to set it again.

To solve this problem I want to add a small internal battery inside it which will keep supplying power to the camera for a while while I change batteries so the date & time is retained.

I have opened the camera and I think there is enough room to add something inside to accomplish this:

The camera is powered by a 3.7V nominal single cell lithium ion battery.
So I need to connect another battery in...
