    IBM R51 touchpad not working

    Hello
    I have an ibm r51 laptop which had a little "coffee break" on the touchpad and now the touchpad and the left mouse button doesnt work.
    It doesnt seem to have any cofee on any component on the touchpad or on the side of the board.
    Can someone tell me what to check?
    I couldn't find any schematics either

      Take the button apart and clean it.

        the button is the least. My big problem is that the touchpade is not working

          try cleaning the ribbon of t/pad and buttons, as well as connectors with something like Isopropyl. if you have not already done that
          any coffee get in that keyboard by any chance???
          I have seen bad keyboards do some funny things to t/pads
          disconnect the k/board and see if there is any change in t/pad

            Good idea but the buttons that start the notebook have the same ribbon with the keyboard. So if I disconnect the one ribbon I cannot even start the notebook

              So give i all a good cleaning and let it dry for a couple hours. Then reassemble and test. Good luck.

                I try clean it with isopropanol alcohol but still nothing.
                Is there anything that I can measure ? acontroller or something?
                I can't find schematics for this laptop.

                  You can check the flex cable, connector, soldering. Clean with isopropyl alcohol is always good idea. Sometimes I use WD40 to impregnate contacts against corrosion, it cleans them too.
