Specify which pins are you talking about. In turned off state the SMPS does not output power, meaning that on pins 24 and 7, there should not be any output. Only outputs which are working are LDO outputs 8 and 17. What is the voltage on these pins at turned off state?

          TPS51123RGER-GP Pin 8 and 17 VREG3(3D3V_AUX_S5) and VREG5(5V_AUX_S5)
these two voltage is still there , but pins 24 and 7 voltage is drop.

At what state 24 and 7 pin there is voltage drop (what is a drop)? Powered on or off?
Is the TPS hot when turned off?

Power off mode. In working mode ( In display mode) no hot on TPS chip , immediately off then starts hot on TPS chip.

So you have got overcurrent on something that works at off state. When powered on does the LAN chip maybe get hot?

So you are saying that computer works sometimes for 2 min. fine before shutting down. OS boots and everything? That is strange...
Change the TPS51123 then, because it gets some feedback from the 3.3V LDO output itself. If you own a lab PSU then supply 3.3V to LDO output and see how much current it draws, maybe find something is getting hot.

Sir please give me the detailed procedure of how to check 3.3v and LDO output.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                          Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. ๐Ÿ˜…

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

                          Hi guys,

This is my first post! ๐Ÿš€
I have no idea what Iโ€™m doing, but Iโ€™m learning by trial and error.

Iโ€™m currently working on a Dell Optiplex AIO 7490โ€”one of a bunch of AIOs that mysteriously failed to POST just a few days after the warranty expired. The original issue was that the PC worked fine until it was rebooted, after which it got stuck on a black screen (no backlight), with fans spinning at normal speed and a solid white power LED. Forcing it off by holding the power button would just cause it to switch on automatically and get stuck again on...

hey guys, hoping for some pointers to repair an eBay bought "faulty" laptop.

Ill try and give as much info as I can.

When I received this , it would only flicker on the KB backlight for a second, then off and on.

Sometimes when attaching the AC power supply, and pressing various pre-boot diagnostic keyboard keys... it did try to boot, in fact out of a hundred attempts, the laptop did actually boot into the Bios ! but never has...

Hi everyone, I have an Inspiron 7506 laptop I've had for a few years, and it'd occasionally have a problem where after I'd power it off, it wouldn't turn on again unless I disconnected, drained residual voltage by pressing the power button, and reconnected the battery. It now seems to be occurring every single time I shut down the laptop and attempt to turn it back on again. I have done all the common troubleshooting steps, such as completely disconnecting the battery & CMOS battery and draining the voltage and leaving it for an hour, and I've even replaced the battery. This is definitely...
