    HP LA-G07JP only power but with battery but charges powered off

    Good afternoom, my HP laptop with board Compal LA-G07JP only starts with battery but with something anormal :

    - With only battery startup is normal.
    - With only AC adapter same voltages but no EC_ON, no power up.
    - Powered off AC adapter charges battery normally.
    - With AC adapter charging battery as soon power on is pressed, charge is interrupted and laptop begins to run from battery.

    No way to run from AC adapter. Which can be the reason?

      Review the dual diode @ PDB1. Remove all power. Meter in DIODE mode. Test this diode.

          Thanks for the answer, PDB1 seems to be ok and VCC is always present at BQ chip. With only charger 19,5V, with only battery 12V. With both also 19,5V but as soon as I press power ACDRV_CHG drops ant AC adpter is disconnected with board powered up from batttery. I can´t find a logical explanation.

              2nd dcin mosfet is most likely shorted.

                  Mosfets are Ok, but something is ilogic, follogin datasheet for BQ24725A :

                  "ACDRV voltage is 6V above CMSRC when voltage on ACDET pin is between 2.4V to 3.15V, voltage on VCC
                  pin is above UVLO and voltage on VCC pin is 275mV above voltage on SRN pin so that ACFET and RBFET can be
                  turned on to power the system by AC adapter"

                  Conditions are the same for ACDRV and ACOK, but ACDRV is droped as soon powerbutton si pressed but ACOK remains high. Perhaps, reference to 275mV means that should de exact that value?

                      Mosfets are Ok,
                      No proof of this. Post each resistance measurement across the mosfet.

                          Only 537 ohm internal diode D-S in conduction measurement, other combinations open. If shorted no ACDRV 25V possible. Power off charging battery ACDRV 25V ACOK 3,3V. Pressed power button ACDRV 0V ACOK 3,3V, starts to run from battery. Battery removed ACDRV 25V ACOK 3,3 but no EC_ON when pressing power, no run from AC only.

                              Problem found, related with adp_i signal due to false connection of jack central pin. I seems that BQ interacts with EC through pin 7.

                                  Lenovo Thinkpad W541 Wistron LKM-1 WS MB 12291-2 Works from the network and charges the battery only when it is turned off.
                                  If you press the power button, the laptop turns on and works from the battery, but does not take power from the power supply.
                                  If you boot into Windows and close the lid while working, thereby putting the laptop into sleep mode, the laptop begins to charge the battery.
                                  even checked it this way: I bring a neodymium magnet to the Hall sensor during operation - the screen goes out and the battery starts charging.

                                  Hi, so the old battery was getting error stated it's capacity is starting too get low and should be replaced, so the customer bought a new one and replaced it, but the new battery was also getting this notice that it's capacity is getting low and should be replaced, so i took the laptop for testing and the battery is charging at the terminal at 8.03V , the voltage of the battery is 7.7V, and drawing around 600mA when charger is put and the laptop is off...so that should be ok... but the bios system test doesn't recognize the battery and can't do the battery test and so is the hp battery manager,...
