pin37 DISPOFF# = the '#' denotes an ACTIVE LOW signal. So with 0v here, the logic board is requesting to turn the DISPLAY OFF.

            Locate the jumper @ RV29.

Cut with a sharp knife to isolate the INV_PWM trace. After this cut, INV_PWM should be with only the pull-down resistor @ RV230.

Measure the voltage on INV_PWM which should be 0v since it is not being driven.

After this confirmation, take a piece of wire and attach to INV_PWM and 3v3. This should drive the PWM to full ON state for the backlight. If this does not work, then your backlight inside of the display assembly is defective. That is, there will be another circuit inside of the display assembly that accepts the PWM (pulse width modulation) signal to drive the multiple leds behind the LCD panel itself.

Dell G3 15 3500 - Battery bug (black screen and flashing keyboard backlight)
              by HTR-Informatique
              Hello,

YouTube video of the problem encountered: https://youtube.com/shorts/q7TLNv36LUo

I am a pro and I have a problem that I have never seen despite my 7.5 years of experience on my own and my thousands of repairs, on a customer's Dell G3 15 3500.

On this PC I have already changed the complete palmrest because the keyboard was no longer working properly.

I also changed the screen because the PC fell and the screen was broken.

I changed the battery with a new and original battery.

I also had corrosion/oxidation on the...

Guide me through repairing a Dell p2210f LCD ccfl backlight monitor
              by DanPoka
I bought this p2210f dell monitor to fix. Schematic is the same as p2210.
Behaviour is that monitors comes on but then backlight switches off almost instantly. If I look with flashlight I can still find the "No signal message". So definitely a backlight issue. Trying to advance the issue I proved that the protection circuit is switching off the backlight by shorting out C3 and resistor to disable the INL chip then re enable by removing the short.
This is where it gets interesting. When I disassembled the monitor to solder leads on c3 capacitor I noticed the backlight flickered...

Dell E6400 PT434 type Battery Charging Stuck at 1%. Battery Pinouts?
              by Bowline
My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?

Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?

My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell...

              by jasonbay13
it was working yesterday, i opened it up and saw this mess. boardview and schematic uploaded for convenience.

              PU200
pin 17 vreg5 = 0v ~ solder joint was corroded and flicked right off with my probe, was able to get clean and reflow, rest look fine.
              pin 8 vreg3 = 0v
              pin 13 en = .2v
              pin 1,6 entrip1,2 = 0v

              b+ and b++ = 19.5v
              +5valw = 0v & 25+ohm to ground
              +3valwp = 0v & 25+ohm to ground

i cleaned the board up just a little and can get more pics.
where should i be looking? thx...

              Dell 7280 No Backlight Help
              by dhicks19
              Hi all,

So im a technician but new to component level repairs on motherboards etc.

My laptop wont turn on the screen backlight - i tried a new screen already.

Ive opened the schematics and found QV1 which gives 3.5 v on all pins except pin 4 which gives 8v.
bridging pin 4 and 5 switches the backlight on, im assuming as its then putting 8v through to pin 5.

I really dont know where to go from here to diagnose the faulty component. Any tips would be greatly appreciated as im trying to learn so it would be great to get this working again....
