    Toshiba L670 power problem

    Hello folks!

So - I have this Toshiba L670 with a power problem. Laptop came in with corrupt BIOS, reflashed BIOS, laptop booted fine, and eventually it came in for repair again.

Symptoms - AC only - Adapter light ON, when trying to power up - Power led blinks, and it resets to beginning.
With battery and AC - sometimes it powers up, eventually shuts down due to battery being empty (Bat led blinks, and beeps. !! charger still connected!!)

Scope measurements -- everything is fine til VIN is converted to B+ (schematic page 36 (S:36)
VIN is nice straight 19.1V, but after 3 resistors it starts to oscillate. (*)
    +5VALW and +3VALW is present.
when power button is ðressed - B+ drops down to 0 and resets.

I cannot find the problem. Is the "PU6" (S:39) defective, shorting something out, or the problem is somewhere else ? Any help ?

(*) --- I could try to take pics of my scope, if that helps.

    Thanks in advance!

P.S. -- this mobo has BIOS and EC, as far as I know, is that right ?
If so -- where to get dump for EC ?

That's a compal board, not an Inventec, where you usually can find the Nec Tokin.

find pu5 and post the values from there. ISL6251 AHAZ

                with charger and battery
                with charger without battery

                    Re: Toshiba L670 power problem

looks to me that charger circuit is working fine. low voltage might been due to shitty battery.

Will check EC when I get back home.
and whats up with B+ ? on scope it looks like normal DC voltage, but has a bump down every second or so. and when Button is pressed it drops dramatically ?

yeah -- DCIN is 0v as it's only charger. And PQ11 is off.
I get 16V on PQ11 without battery -- and it drops down to 10V with battery.

What I'm concerned of - is the B+
                              check image for more.

is there a short in volt rails ?

I have an LG Plasma TV 60PM6700 for the past ~12 years.

In the last ~3-4 months I have been having some issues.
                                  1. Problem: It started with random picture disappearing (sound still worked).
Frequency: Happened about once a week.
Solution: Had to turn off TV wait a few seconds before turning it on again.
                                  2. Problem: Then it got worse and the TV started to shut down and when turning on the no picture just sound.
Frequency: Happened about once a week.

All voltage in the coil 3.3v, 5v and 6.7v indicate charging are all present. including the cpu voltage , EEPROM and GPU voltage the unit is now alive, normal screen booting to windows and log in screen until I power it off. Then the unit never goes on even when pressing the power button in the keyboard.. Voltage reading 19v main , 3.3v VCC in IT8225E-128 and EEPROM VCC 0 volt and the charging voltage 0 volt.

Hello, trying to fix C9 55 inch. I have pulled the back and all looks completely normal with nothing burnt so far. This is first time attempting to fix a tv so any help is appreciated.

Problem. I hit power button, red light on TV turns off and tries to turn on, no picture shows up and then shuts off. This occurred after house power turned on and off, not from a storm.

I have tested the power going from power supply to main board, all 12v and 20 volt readings are proper when I hit power button.

The power supply to t con is different story.

I have a lenovo ideapad 5 14itl05, board LA-K321P, That will only power up on Battery only, or with battery disconnected and power adapter only. If battery is connected and usb-c power plug connected. It only works on battery and will not charge. I can however force it to charge by connecting the battery from a disconnected state while the power USB c plug is powering the laptop.

Additionally....to add to this strange situation. The usb-c power plug ONLY works to power the laptop on one side when inserted into the boards power usb c plug. If you rotate it 180 degrees, the board gets...

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply
                                  by sam_sam_sam
I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...
