Macbook Air M2 A2681 Keyboard and trackpad not working with certain LCD

Hello. As in description, TP and KB are not working when connected to the OEM display (working one). The angle sensor was damaged by a water, other than that I cannot find any more liquid damage or even stains. I took the bezel off the LCD to inspect but it looks intact. when I connect a spare LCD it works like a charm. I never seen before a laptop where KB and TP would work due to a display that is displaying without any issue. Any idea?

Review the smbus / I2C and all SPI interface lines. These interfaces will also be used by the trackpad and could be causing your issues.

I did some measurements, and the only thing I found off is the I2C DISP BKLT SDA and I2C DISP BKLT SCL lines. They show 1.24V and some data flow during boot, then goes OV. I compared this with another working LCD, where the voltage remains steady — that's the only difference I found.

There's one SPI line I don't have access to; I'd need to solder a wire to the connector to measure it. So yes, the faulty screen sometimes displays content and sometimes doesn't. In both cases, the touchscreen and keyboard aren't working.
