Lenovo Legion 5 ryzen 7 5800H camera not detected
Hi. I'm using a Lenovo Legion 5 NM-D562 15ACH6H with ryzen 7 5800H that suffered a heavy impact at the back where the USB ports are. Initially, it didn't boot — just a black screen. I reballed the CPU, and it came back to life. Everything seems to be working fine, except the camera. It is not detected in Device Manager at all. I tried a previous BIOS version, checked the ribbon cable and resistors on the PCB. The camera receives 3.3V, and I can't find the reason why it wouldn't work. The microphones beside the camera work fine. When I tested the data lines to the SoC, there was some resistance... -

Hello. The laptop freezes and resets only at low CPU usage, practically at IDLE after a few minutes. There is no problem under a load, and I benchmarked it for over an hour. I noticed that one of the CPU coils was making whining noise at low CPU usage. I previously thought it was a BIOS problem, but updated BIOS and no change. I'm thinking of changing the CPU DrMos'es there are 5 of them all together. I have already swapped the DrMOSes first one with the last one (I desoldered them and soldered in swapping DrMos no.1 with... -

Hi. Thanks for your reply. Yes it's the GTX1650 I don't know why I wrote 1070 probably because I sourced the VRAMs from 1070. Hello again. I replaced the part it solved the problem for a wee while then again I only get 5V. According to Louis Rossmann if you only get 5V and your CD3217 is not boot looping it means it's a bad one. In my case none of the ICs are boot looping. I have replaced the CD3217 from macbook pro 2019 (hopefully these are interchangeable) and again I get no boot loop on that new IC, which makes me think in it's not only that both CD3217 must have communication between themselves to initialise 20V, but...Leave a comment:

Hi. My laptop was water damaged and many things didn't work. I managed to get it up and working but had problem with GPU and at the end it turned out to be a faulty VRAM (Hynix H5GC8H24AJR-R2c) and I replaced it with (Samsung K4G80325FB-HC25) and it worked sort of. On standard drivers I was able to play fine but once exit the game laptop thrown blue screen “video tdr failure”. When I installed gaming drivers it worked fine ok, but when was running on a battery only was giving me blue screens. I think the problems is due to a wrong Straps... -

Hello group. The Macbook was flooded and someone was already tinkering with it, it doesn't show any signs of life. The track pad was also affected by water, but didn't find any shorts. The charger initialises usually 5V and about 300mA and at 20V 20-50mA, voltages as below:
PP3V8_AON_VDDMAIN - 3.8v
PPBUS_AON -12.3V then 12.0V and going down and cycles
PPVDD_SOC_S1 - 0.62v

Alienware m15 R4 CPU or CPU drivers issue
Hi. I had a problem with this laptop that under a load it would crash the system, meaning the screen would go black and unresponsive. I have noticed that CPU drivers surrounding area of PCB has changed colour due to high temperature. I have tried to reball the Drivers, but after it laptop wouldn't turn on at all and it would trigger over current protection in the PSU. I ordered and replaced 3 of of 5 Drivers (3 CPU, 2 IGPU?), and it started producing 1.2V again but just for a second. I get led flashing out the CPU failure code. Now I'm not sure whether there is still a problem with the drivers... -

Got it. Manage to find a short, the guilty parts name was UP900 keyboard backlight pwm. I thought I'll be able to source out the part from the old 2019 MacBook Pro but it's got different components. Does anyone know where to get it or some sort of substitution to it? Kind thank you
P.S. Never fully trust the schematics, they are cheeky bastards

Hi. I'm having trouble getting the USB-C to work. There's sound when connecting a devices, but no voltage appears on the +VBUS_1 line and only 5v shows up when connecting a charger. The board was after a slight water damage but nowhere near the USB-C port or its components. Apart from water damage the board was 'attacked' with a screwdriver by previous technician, few capacitors were missing from PCH and PQ227, which is 702-5 missing and got it replaced with 702-C that is responsible for DCI detect, not 100% sure if that's the right replacement but... -

Hi. I suspect the SSD has failed on this machine. I couldn't find answers googling it hence my question. Can you just take and replace SSD from another mac 2019 or it need to be programmed with serial numbers etc? Also eg. if my macbook is 128GB and using only one slot/bank for the SSD and another slot/bank is not being used (empty), can you remove the SSD from slot 1 and put it into slot 2, would it work? I know for a fact that those SSD are set in RAID partitions so if arranged in wrong order it's not going to work, but I'm curious if it needs programming also if the SSD can be soldered onto... -

Hi. I really have been struggling with this laptop for a while. I had perfectly working laptop and I decided I will use it to play with freshly purchased SVOD4 programmer (What an idiot...
). I did backup of all my chips UE2, UT2, UT5, UV10 BIOS and KBC. After my first attempt with the KBC I flashed it with downloaded EC just to find out it didn't pass the verification stage. First I thought it doesn't write properly to the chip, but now I think i does write to the chip, but for some strange reason is unable to read it back, it stops at the address of 0001000. Hi. I had to get a new KBC chip and I managed to get the voltages and somehow program the new KBC, BUT it programs itself only up to 00010000 address, which is something like 8MB instead of 16MB code. Im using SVOD4 and have no idea what could be causing it.Leave a comment:
