    RT809F ZIF socket operation

Hi, I bought a RT809F from China. When I connect it to a LCD Monitor with HDMI, it auto detects the EEPROM and can read and program it.
However I have 2 different 8 pins EEPROMs and wanted to read them out. It neither detects the ICs correctly, nor can it read them even if I select the device.
If I measure voltage between pin 4 (GND) and 8 (VCC), I measure 0V. Obviously operation cannot work without voltage.

Any tips what I am doing wrong ?

Which eeproms are not being detected properly? Which part #?

It is possible that the s/w or hardware logic is checking for a nominal current draw from a seated memory device else will power down. The meter leads are not imposing a suitable load so the Vcc remains off. Perhaps quickly pulsed on and then off and the meter is unable to sample this rapid ON/OFF cycling.

I have tried two different devices, one is a 24C16, the other one 25040. Both are neither recognized in the socket nor can be read when selected manually

Post a clear pic of one of these ICs as seated in your programming tool for a review.

What is mentioned on the ZIF socket markings. The size may be the issue.

The ZIF socket comes in 2 sizes 150mil/200mil.

150mil is the size for 24xx/25xx series eeproms.

The leads make contact and I cannot measure any VCC voltage. I don't understand your comment

Likely VCC gets enabled only when reading/writing, try sticking wires on the socket, attached to your multimeter leads
If your meter has auto range, switch it to manual range (10-20v), then try to read the chip, you should see the voltage appear only when reading the chip
If you have an old desktop PC motherboard laying around with a DIP8 25xx flash, try it, that's to rule out if your ZIF socket, or programmer is defective

As noted in post # 2...

Given that this was a new product purchase, what did the vendor report? What did the manufacturer's tech support team report?

I have an endless chat with that chinese company, however not very helpful. They ask for more and more videos and pictures, but no real help.
In the meantime I remembered that I have a CH341A. I used the same adapter sockets and same ICs in that and it could read the two ICs I tried. So it is definitely a problem with the RT809F, not a bad IC or a bad adapter socket.

If there are no warranty seals, open it up to review. Perhaps a dry solder issue. Really should be returned to the vendor but may be easier to repair than to return.

                          by araxnido
Dear friends, I want to share my experience repairing an ASUS TUF FX506L gaming laptop motherboard: DABKXDMB8E0_F_BKXD. Boardview and schematic are available, as well as the BIOS and ITE ROM.

When the customer brought in this laptop, it was initially dead; it showed no signs of booting for any reason. After hours of measurements, checking each stage, MOSFET, and seeing if there was a short circuit in any capacitor, I discovered a strange 0.7V leakage voltage on the 3V_S5 rail, particularly on the PL9 coil, with the board not powered on. There were 3V_LDO and 5V_LDO voltages, which...

Possible to convert eMMC Socket to a micro SD Card socket?
                          by Isabella91
I have seen many posts where the eMMC can be read via a SD card reader, however can the opposite be achieved?

Read/Write a Micro SD Card from an eMMC Socket.

I have a Motherboard with a Kingston BGA153 ball socket, using HS400 bus mode, which is 8bit, as Micro SD is usually 1bit or 4bit mode, I accept that a loss of speed in read/write will occur, but I would sill like to convert.

Theoretically speaking, Im thinking if I hard solder DAT0-3 from eMMC to SD Card Reader, this should force 4-bit mode, or only DAT0 to force 1-bit mode.

                          Not to remove...

Acer AN515-57-577G JDIMM1 socket not working.
                          by warsztat
Hello, Acer AN515-57-577G JDIMM1 socket does not work. GH51G LA-L181P, 2x DDR4 RAM, both good, both work well in JDIMM2, neither works in JDIMM1. The laptop displays BIOS, when the JDIMM2 socket is occupied, you can run Linux on USB, then everything seems to work ok, there is internet access and you can browse the contents of the 512 GB SSD in Windows, but starting Windows ends with an eternal spinning circle, maybe there are corrupted files. When the RAM is inserted into the JDIMM1 socket, the laptop starts but there is no image and the downloaded current does not change and the output is ~2.25A....

Hi All - I am hoping someone can help with some pointers (complete noob here!)

I have recently purchased a Scotle HR460 BGA reball machine (it's a bit old and I think the company no longer exists either), but as far as I can tell it is a competent and unmolested machine that should be good enough for my needs.
My biggest problem is that it came with no profiles, and I must re-create all of them from scratch, something that is very scary for someone that doesn't really know what they are doing.
The simple stuff like a small memory module isn't a big deal because there are

                          does RT809F with PEB1 support IT8227vg?
                          by Jamescameron696969
                          I have RT809F but i don't have PEB1 extension. i wanna buy PEB1 but i'm not sure if it supports IT8227vg in Lenovo K14 gen1.
i wanna ty to unlock it using RT809F and PEB1.
maybe someone here tried to do it using RT809F.
                          any suggestions?
