Plan B is to manually remove and reflash the T2 rom with the firmware for this logic board. The ROM devices are funky shapes so you will need a special PCB or socket to reflash this device.

We have similar but not the same socket. This is a SMD to PDIP zero force socket. Once you seat with pin #1 on the SMD to the pin #1 on the programmer, you will be able to R/W/E the target flash rom. I believe in the ROM sub-forum, you will be able to find the T2 rom dump for your machine. If stuck, ping me and will hunt around for the same. According to Master Liu (Shenzhen), he noted that the T2 dumps are not serialized so you should be ok to use a T2 dump from a known good machine. I have been kicking the repair of a high end imac and need to do the same as you. Perhaps will attempt it tomorrow. Be sure to backup the original (twice) to be safe before erasing and reflashing. After you do this, Master Liu noted that the machine will be in DFU mode. Then attempt again to see if the logic board is detected by the configurator DFU tool.Comment

Unfortunately, this cannot be used with BeeProg that I have. One question before I'll look for other programmer. After you rewrite T2 ROM dump is there "revive" option? Or only "restore" option. I mean data is really important.Comment

Hello, finnaly I found a way to read T2 ROM dump. ROM from my dead PCB has 16MB but when I downloaded a ROM from forum it has only 4MB... Could you tell me what could be wrong? This dump also has the same size 4MB

Ok. Thank you very much. Maybe there is some difference between 820-01700-05 and 820-01700-A (mine PCB).

PPBUS_G3H is 12.3V on top left port. On bottom port there is 0V. (it goess from 5V to zero after 2 seconds.) Could it be problem with CD3217?Comment

There was no signs of liquid damage on connector or nearest area, but when I removed CD3217 (U3100), there is corrosion. OMG.... Wish me luck.Comment

Does this mean A2141 is compatible only with A2159? https://repair.wiki/w/CD3217_compatibility or am I wrong? Thank you.Comment

According to the landing page, yes. The controller is compatible on the listed 2 models. Personally suggest to stick with a controller removed from a known good A2141 and from the same location as the part you wish to replace. You may want to chat with vendors on Aliexpress who sell these devices but purchase from a reputable vendor. Even better if you can perform the surgery using a donor board - at least for this initial repair. Remove -> reball -> replace.Comment

Hi guys i have my personal MacBook Pro 2015 820-00165 board that was working fine for more than a year and one day stopped working on my original Magsafe charger. It was turning on with my bench power supply. Opened it up and while diagnosing that somehow i ended up with a shorted smc.The line which was shorted was SMC_PM_G2_EN. I removed the SMC and short was gone. So all I had was another working donor board 820-3435 which i used to program it's SMC to 820-00165 using the SMCTOOL By MuertoGB.Took that SMC and use it on my 820-00165 board .And my board started working again. by mferna14Hi all, working on a MacBook Air A2179 EMC 3302 stuck on Apple Logo. Came in dead. There was spillage on both of the USB-C Charge port connector. I replaced the cap 4.7UF 25V near the speaker connector as it was corroded. Replaced USB-C connector with a new one & now I get display. The problem is that gets stuck on the Apple logo & sometimes it even boots up into OS after a very long time & the CPU fan spins fast. Kindly any repair tips will be appreciated. Do these logic board have BIOS, so that I could do a clean up or load a new dump. Thanks in advance.

by sdogsHappy Sunday everyone,
I have this Macbook Pro 15 A2141 820-01700-A stuck at 5V, it doesn't have any liquid marks or burn marks, I have carefully inspected the logic with the microscope and have not found any anomalies.
By connecting the usb-c tester I could see that it is blocked at 5v, and as a first measurement I checked PPBUS_G3H which has a voltage value of 0.8v and measured in 0.06 ohm diode mode.
I read a bit in the forum and I tried to inject 1v on the F7000 not having any current absorption, I then went up to 1.5v and I had a light current absorption (0.10Amp) and... -
by oxonaterHi everyone hope all are well
I need a little expert advice on a issue I have and seeing as this forum is full of clever people I thought ask here as you never know.
I recently repaired a logic board 820-01700 which belongs to a 16" 2019 Macbook Pro, however I seem to be missing a component near the T2 Rom chip and is U4730.
The schematics say this chip is (M34128-FCS6_P/T) and it also says there is a bypass for it wondered if anyone come across either the IC or the bypass method.
I suppose it's worth noting googling the part package brings up various... - Loading...
