    820-01987 no charging

Hello. Have a macbook with motherboard 820-01987 that's not charging. Initially it came with a short and managed to trace it to PP0V9_TBT_X_SVR, I removed u2800 and short went away. I ordered JHL6540 replacement but now I get no charging it's stuck at 5V.

Thanks any help would be appreciated

Confirm the presence of each LDO on each CD3217 power delivery controller. You can find the cluster of these pins under the 'Power' text in the library part for each CD3217.

Remove all power. Meter in resistance mode. Measure the resistance to ground of PP1V8_SLPS2R.

Meter in resistance mode. Measure the resistance to ground of PP1V8_SLPS2R.

Resistance will be in ohms. I think you are in diode mode? If not in diode mode, share the meter resistance scale you are using.

Rail is not shorted but is also not working properly.

Try a DFU. Post your results.

Nintendo Switch lite charging chip heats up and does not short circuit
                      by fab13
                      Hello everyone

Small technical problem on a Nintendo Switch lite
Here's what I noticed: the USB port has been damaged internally, with a short circuit on the power supply line to the small fuse.

After replacing the USB connector, the short circuit went away and I can't see any other short circuit in the whole motherboard.

When I charge the console, it seems to be charging: I get 15 volts and an amperage of 0.450 A.

Then, after a while, the amperage increases to 1.1 A and the BQ24193 charging chip starts to heat up, as evidenced...

HP Probook 470 G4 - Power and Charging Problem
                      by Scoff
Looking for some help with this one if anybody can assist please? I have an HP Probook 470 G4 Laptop which recently started to intermittently failing to turn on, with intermittent white LED light(charging LED) by the charging port when it should have been charging and showing an orange LED instead. Definitely some sort of gradual failure. Now the laptop fails to power on at all, no charging LED, no Power Button LED either - seemingly dead.
Stripped down to the bare motherboard. The original HP battery, when disconnected from the motherboard, is reading 0.00v - possibly some sort of protection...

Extreme High Current & Low Voltage Short Killer ??
                      by DynaxSC
                      Hi Folks

I'm looking for a extreme high current short killer solution for a reasonable cost.

I have an LGA1700 motherboard (ASUS PRIME Z790-P WiFi) where I exchanged the LGA socket already 3 times, and every time after the socket exchange I get a short of power supply lines VCORE (V variable) and VCCIN_AUX (1.8V).
After taking off the socket, the shorts dissappear again.
The soldermask on the socket is already partially demaged from the heat, so I have reconstructed the soldermask by manually painting the missing soldermask parts with a very small top of a...

Help with trying to fix phone that is not charging (Pics inside)
                      by SluggerB
I have two TCL A30 phones.

Old Phone: This phone worked fine for years, then stopped charging If you plugged a charger into it, the phone would make the charging sound, the phone would tell you it is charging, but the battery icon would not have the charging symbol in it and the battery would not charge.I tried new battery, same behavior.

New Phone: Works fine, bought as a donor board to try and repair Old Phone

My interest here is to repair Old Phone, using components parts off New Phone if needed. I am not interested in replacing Old Phone with New Phone....

MacBook Pro 14" A2442 Short on PPBUS_AON but no short present when injecting voltage!
                      by Stephen
I check PPBUS_AON and there is a short present on the line, the computer shows a short when testing for short to ground, so when I inject voltage into the line, I get 0AMPS so no short is showing up. I have replaced a blown cap on this board that exploded and tested for the short and it is now removed. Any suggestions? I tested voltage at the line when the fuses are connected and I am getting 1.2 Volts at the line.
