    MacBook Pro A2289 No Power

hi guys I have a 2020 MacBook Pro A2289 it has the i5 CPU and is now acting as if its dead,

when I plug in the charger cable with a volt meter thing connected as well its drawing 20.3v and 1.11A

if I press the power button nothing happens.

but if I hold the power button for 7 seconds or more the voltmeter drops all the amps down to 0.00A but voltage stays the same.

any ideas where I can check ??

from what I can gather it must be charging the battery at 1.11A as nothing happens when the power button is pressed. I can successfully reset the SMC with the key combo as again the amp draw goes to 0.00A

    thanks for any help.

    cheers

Measure the voltage to ground of PPBUS_G3H @ fuse F7000 (both sides). What is the voltage? Is it stable?

Is the current draw of 1.11A immediate upon applying the power or does it climb to this value?

Since you have 20v, the USB-C power delivery chips are ok and working.

hi thanks for the reply and ive checked both sides of the fuse F7000 and its 12.6v stable both sides.

and no the current draw starts of at about 0.32 and goes up slowly to just over 1A

      thanks

        With 12v6, T2 has booted.

        Attempt a DFU.
