Dell Inspiron 15 AC adapter turns off as soon as connected (MB Short)

Please can someone help me, im trying to find the shorted component as i have a donor board that i can swop components from.

If i inject 2V/2A on DC in PU4201 gets really hot. ive changed out PU4201 from another board as well as a couple other Mosfets but PU4201 still gets crazy hot when i inject. Any ideas? im still a noob so am learning.

Can you link the schematic (but do not post it here)?

Board works ok if on adapter voltage? Does PU4201 get hot if powered by the adapter only?

      Hello,

Remove pu4201 and Check résistance between gate to source, drain to gate, drain to source and source to drain…. On both Of your mofset.

Then Check résistance to ground on the board, on the location (on the Track) Of source, drain, gate (where the mofset should be)… (without the mofset)

      post your result .

When you say works ok on adapter voltage, do you mean i should inject 19v using bench supply.

Perhaps@mon2 didnt read the thread with attention. Dont inject 19V as the mb will be permanently damaged beyond repair. Proper way is injecting 1V/5A on shorted side. Btw, What is the resistance to GND on CLR pr4402? The mb seems like CEDAR 13269-1 to me.
