dell inpiron n4050 is short

Hi to all exparts
I have DELL INSPIRON N4050
Problem is as i plug charer in chargeieg jack the charger's LED went off....
Laptop has still no power..
I opend laptop and checked power jack is not short...
There is some shortage on board...
Plz guide me how to chek and fix the problem....
I m new in this field...

let me understand you don`t how to open and you want to repair the motherboard?

I can resolve basic problems ,
I have changed many usb ports of laptop board...
I never tried to resolve any major problem.g.g
But now i want to go for that with help of u all...
I hope u wil not dipspoint me...
Plz share ur knowledge and experience ..

Hi mate, when motherboard is short the following components go bad - Mosfets, Capacitors and sometime GPU (I dealt one such case with HP DV6 amd gpu). Well easiest way to test is set your multimeter to ohms range : First start testing all power fets which have 19 volts fed to their drains - simply put the probe between source to drain - then source to gate of mosfet (go online and read pin details of mosfets for better understanding - you can see some marking on the m/b which tells fet's pin 1 which is source and pin 4 is gate)

Test only power Fet's and get reading (should not read .1 ohms +_) if yes then turn your attention towards that part and capacitors surrounding it.

How do you know it's shorted???
I would start with mobo part number, so can look for the right schematics...

its like every time i see a dell that shutdown the adapter i say No! ty . but here its like 90% everybody will say its a bad cap on that motherboard.
i will rly like to see a how to find that stupid cap because i have at work 2 dells xps and one could be mine if i know to to find that stupid cap.
yes i know voltage injection but still where the hek should i inject.
