Re: Presario CQ61 Dead- Not Booting
Can you please stop using phrases like "SHIT LOAD OF PEOPEL" because you are one of them and its very unprofessional. Thanks...

Re: SCHEMATIC NEEDED Lg X140 netbook
Hi Pravin, the short can be anywhere on the board. Since you found some chip is burned check capacitors and mosfets for short, its easy to test when you select continuity in your multimeter and start testing source to gate terminals in mosfets. Cheers

Re: Presario CQ61 Dead- Not Booting
Hi mate, it should be bios or EC chip.

Re: Acer aspire 5742z no power / dead
Check voltage 3.3 Volts on the power button - If yes : press the power button and see the voltage drops to 0 volts - If yes the power button circuit is OK. Check the bios and EC.
Cheers

Re: Dell Inspiron Mini 10 , 17v on power switch
Hi mate,
This is strange issue which happens on some motherboards
I have face this issue mostly in Acer motherboards where you will have 17 volts near power button instead of 3.3 volts
But when you check pin 117 in EC/SIO chip it will read 3.3 volts.
I have solved this issue by replacing BIOS chip (re-flashed) in Acer motherboard once.
So try replacing BIOS chip
Also check PQ1 on page 30.
Good LuckLast edited by cephei328; 06-13-2014, 02:44 AM.

Re: Acer aspire 5742z no power / dead
Hi mate,
If the Motherboard charging LED is orange (Please check current pull up - it should be more than 1 amps) then charging circuit is good. The next thing you need to check Coil PL46 and PL47 for 3.3 and 5 Volts respectively - If yes go to U16 (EC / SIO chip) Check pin 117 :PBTN OUT# it should read 3.3 Volts. If yes press the power button and check Pin 13 (PLT RST) it should give 3.3 volts output for turn ON. If no voltage from pin 13 check SPI bios (re-flash) first and then replaced SIO chip.

Re: Asus A52JE-EX209V no display
Hi anno,
Intel i series 1st generation CPU's can fail easily. Try swapping with new or working CPU and check the display before replacing or doing any replacement.
"Switching graphics : The Intel cpu has inbuilt graphics processor (low end) along with you dedicated GPU (high end) - The system will switch between both graphics according to the requirement to save power"

Re: Asus A52JE-EX209V no display
Hi mate, What CPU does this Laptop has? Should be Intel i series if it is the 1st generation CPU then try to swap with working one and check for Display.
New generation Motherboards has switching Graphics so always good to check all easy one first. Good Luck!

Asus K53SD - no power
Hi guys!
Need help with this
Asus K53SD motherboard - No power
Charger controller tested OK
System power DC/DC - is the problem
3.3 Volts OK but no 5 Volts from the RT8206A chip
RT8206A has 2 EN signals (for 3.3 and 5 Volts resp) When tested 3.3 Volts EN signal on pin 27 is OK but no EN signal at pin 14 (Which is EN for 5 volts). Don't have the Schematics to trace the signal path
Help would be much appreciated!
Thanks

Re: bios hp cq61
Hi mate, You can use DMI tattoo tool to put back s/n and other details into BIOS
Use MS DOS (it can be any bootable DOS program) copy the DMI tool file into a pen drive
Boot the system with MS DOS - select the drive (pen drive) using command line
eg: CD D: (or) just D: and enter
Once inside the drive go into DMI tool folder
Type: NBDmifit
The software tool take u through the option where you can put the serial and other details back
Cheers...

Re: asus K55VD - no power
Atsio was right, EC ITE8517E gets 3.3 volts standby voltage from RT8239B system power controller. When EC is short no 3.3 volts and chip gets hot. Cheers

asus K55VD - no power
Hi guys,
I have Asus K55VD motherboard - Dc to Dc controller chip RT8239b is getting hot - when tested - 3.3 volts Always ON voltage is missing - but 5 volts always ON is present. Don't have schematics to trace the 3.3 volts always ON power rail . Help is much appreciated
Note: This 3.3 and 5 volts always ON will be present even before pressing power button and feeds EC and charger IC. When power button is pressed 3.3 and 5 volts system power will come out of RT8239b chip.
