    Macbook Pro M1 a2338 (820-02020) - 5V 0A

Hi all just got another Macbook Pro M1 a2338 that is taking only 5V 0a on both USB-C ports.

I've checked and firstly there was 5V 0,4a and after checking with thermal camera i found it was C81DB that was shorted after removing and replacing with new cap short was gone but i get only 5V 0a.

    PPBUS_AON is 12,3V

I've checked according to repair wiki all 4 resistors (R5221, R5222, R5261, R5262) all were 1,1ohm so i've replaced U5200 but still the same problem only 5V 0a

    Any idea ?

    Perform a thermal camera scan.

    Try a DFU.

I've tried thermal camera but as there is 0a nothing is gettin hot. If it will be in DFU there will be atleast some amp consuption.

I've tried in known good case and i'm still getting only 5V 0A ...

tried to put it in DFU but nothing it still remains on 5V 0A ... other macbook pro with M1 is at least turning on / off (i can see it that usb meter is turning on and off) but on this one it's still on 5V 0A ...

                Hi all,

I’m new to the forum and could use a bit of help. My name is Tom and I have a problem 😅

I bought a MacBook Pro M1 and also got a second one for spare parts. The seller told me it had a small water spill. After opening it, I found four spots with corrosion on the board.

One of those spots has damaged components — I’m not sure if they’re capacitors or other SMD parts. I’ve already cleaned the whole board with isopropanol, which made the other areas look fine. But could those damaged caps be the reason why the MacBook won’t power on?...

Greetings to the entire forum, I ask you for help because I'm going crazy. A dear friend of mine gave me a macbook pro M1 A2338 that only works with an external screen. With the internal one, no backlight or image. Only the external display is detected from the system settings.
First I changed the display flat, then I made a backup with time machine and tried a reset in dfu but nothing to do, always the same problem.
I analyzed the logic board, it shows no sign of liquid or visible damage. I then moved on to examine the logic with the thermal camera and found that the UP701 chip was...

                by classicandy
                Hi Everyone,

Please, I have a MacBook Pro A2338 M2, board number : 820-02773. The speakers and the microphone of the Mac are not working and I need assistance in fixing.

UR730 got damaged and short-circuited the motherboard. After removing the shortened IC; before and after putting the new one I ordered, the speakers [specifically the other one not affected by this IC] and the microphone are still not working. I do have sound through a Bluetooth speaker device or when I connect a headphone with microphone to the jack 3.5mm input. Also, media files do not play unless a...
