    MSI MS-14C4 - No power (MS14C41 Ver 3)

    Hi,

I'm having a problem with MSI MS-14C4, no power 20v 0.1amp on the reader, no signs of liquid damage, if battery attached there is no difference. Area next to BQ gets very hot as well with PR305, PQ31 Drain 20V, Source 4.2v, Gate 5.2V about 4.1V, PQ30 Drain 4.2 V, Source 0V, Gate 2.2V.

I've noticed that occasionally 2nd USB port goes to 5v - 0.1AMP, as soon re-connected comes back to 20V 0.1Amp any ideas? I couldn't find any schematics nor boardview.

Remove all power -> meter in resistance mode (not diode mode). Check the resistance to ground @ PC231. One meter probe @ PC231; other meter probe on the other side of PC231. One side of this capacitor is ground. If this cluster of parts is heating up then someone in this region is shorting and drawing too much current, resulting in heat generation.

0.8MOhm on PC231, removed PC231 and 2 others next to it, same thing, after removing, when PR next to it is removed board does not heat up, 20v 0.6amp

        PR305 is current sensing resistor?
