Hi guys i have my personal MacBook Pro 2015 820-00165 board that was working fine for more than a year and one day stopped working on my original Magsafe charger. It was turning on with my bench power supply. Opened it up and while diagnosing that somehow i ended up with a shorted smc.The line which was shorted was SMC_PM_G2_EN. I removed the SMC and short was gone. So all I had was another working donor board 820-3435 which i used to program it's SMC to 820-00165 using the SMCTOOL By MuertoGB.Took that SMC and use it on my 820-00165 board .And my board started working again. PPBUS_G3H 8.56V. But started this extremely slow boot up. It will take 2 mins to hear the chime. Then another 2mins to show the apple logo and then it will take about 5 mins loading the OS .. then will get stuck on 99% and would get stuck there permanently.. So i tried like 3x different cleaned Me Region Dumps for this board from badcaps bios section. I tried different and older MacOS versions. Tried 5 different original SSD's . Also tried booting from a MacOS USB same issue. Used a known working chassis with working keyboard and trackpad and battery. plugged and unplugged,. Tested all resistors around the SPI and U1900 Area . Had 1 shorted cap just above U1900 and a Open Line Resistor. Changed them out and replaced them according to the Schematic. But nothing changed. Still boots extremely slow. Was wondering if any of u guys have experience with this issue and can maybe guide me on a few things to check before I give up on this board. Or is it just maybe a plain bad SMC. Or maybe I should of used a 820-3437 SMC as was recommended for use with 820-00165 boards with SMCTool.?Any help will be greatly appreciated thanks.

Throttling on MAC's can be many things. They run slow with a flat battery (or missing SMBUS data to the battery), any sensor data that is missing (trackpad is the most common, but there are others on the board for voltage, current or temperature). Even had a bad Apple SSD cause it once. If you are using a donor BIOS, it must have a clean ME (i.e. the ME firmware contained in the BIOS is not initialised to an existing system). Note that Apple used a customised ME firmware compared to the vanilla Intel F/W, so you must use ME F/W specifically for each MAC system when creating a clean ME BIOS using FIT or Muerto's MacEfiTool.Comment

by a_p3rsonHi there,
I'm looking for anyone who might have information on Apple's embedded Apple Watch charging daughterboard, ID 820-02601. This is currently used by Anker in their Apple Watch charging products, but likely by other Apple partner brands as well.
You can see the board referenced in ChargerLab's teardown of the Anker Y1811 3-in-1 MagSafe cube - they discuss the "Apple Watch wireless charging circuit" about 2/3rds down the page. It's not pictured, but the board ID reads 820-02601-A, which sure sounds like Apple.
This daughterboard uses an interesting...-

by modtoolDear colleagues,
I've entered the repair of the chromebook machines just one month ago and I've found some significant differences from the classic laptops or macbooks, so I'm searching some advices.
The owner of this chromebook gave it to me after it has been left flooded by water for almost a week, so chances of repair were not so high, the mainboard was oxidyzed in many spots but I made a nice cleaning, resoldering and component replaging work and now it is almost working.
Among other things I've cleaned many spots from oxyds, reballed CPU, EMMC, EC, replaced...05-07-2025, 06:10 AM -
by mferna14Hi friends, working on a MacBook Air A2179 logic board 820-01958-A logic board. It's just stuck on 5V .19amp on one USB-port & then when I use to the other port it's also stuck on 5V .19amp but on this port it resets after few secs & start over with the same said voltage. I assumed that one of the CD3217B12s is defective, & replaced both with known good ICs. The status & result remains the same. I checked for shorts or liquid spill, all clear. On F8400 there is 12v present, but no 5V or 3.3 volts. There are LDO voltages on the both CDs 3.2v & 1.5V. Kindly if someone can help...

by mferna14Hi all, working on a MacBook Air A2179 EMC 3302 stuck on Apple Logo. Came in dead. There was spillage on both of the USB-C Charge port connector. I replaced the cap 4.7UF 25V near the speaker connector as it was corroded. Replaced USB-C connector with a new one & now I get display. The problem is that gets stuck on the Apple logo & sometimes it even boots up into OS after a very long time & the CPU fan spins fast. Kindly any repair tips will be appreciated. Do these logic board have BIOS, so that I could do a clean up or load a new dump. Thanks in advance.
