    macbook pro m3 a2918 - dead

    Click image for larger version  Name:	1.jpg Views:	0 Size:	1.86 MB ID:	3231247 Does it need to have a working battery to power up? Because i removed battery terminal and measured voltage which was 0 volts. It was liquid damaged, but the board looks OK apart one spot.

    At first it was sent to repair, apparently they only took money. Too bad they did not disconnect the battery, because it was still working. After few month it came to me for a second opinion. I'm no a pro, just friend gave me this.

    That area looks like Power IC chips, I may be wrong since I have yet to get my hand these models. Most likely that area of corrosion is your culprit why it is not working. I would get a Thermal imager handing and see where any shorts may show. These are new so repairs on these may be a little different.

      Power brick has no power output, with disconnected magsafe from the board. Maybe we need to figure out my power brick question.
      This circuit goes to USB C ports, above two USB C is a smaller connector that connects to a magasfe and goes to the other side of the board.

          Again those may be POWER IC chips. Looks like it. I may be wrong. Power IC chips are part of the process for the board to turn on hence POWER. If you have a board schematic (highly doubt it) I may be wrong. But again a THERMAL IMAGER will most likely be your best bet to see if any shorts are showing. Since there may not be any schematics out for these particular boards, a Thermal imager and a donor board is your best option.

            "Fixed". The board was OK. At first i was thinking that the board was faulty, because i was told so.
            Faulty angle sensor immediately shuts off mac after brief apple logo and slight bar load. Removed angle sensor and it boots fine.

            For the MB to power, you need to ground pins on the board and then plug power adapter. For battery to output power it needs to communicate with MB otherwise it will not output any voltage.

            I need to fix angle sensor or maybe i can can use older gen senors, because they look the same apart cable form factor.
