    MSI CX700 MS-17311, hannstar E89382

Would appreciate some guidance on the next issue.

Laptop turns on with fan on full speed. Even starts up Windows 7, but after 1 to 2 minutes system shuts down completely.
Fan and cooling paste etc cleaned, CPU and GPU do not get hot when this happens.
I found the Sis 672DX and the ICS93V8453Y (clk1) get very hot.
I can't find any schematics of this motherboard. The Hannstar E89362 schematics in this forum are from different laptop brands with the same type number, but all with different layout and Intel chipset and not Sis chipset.
Can anybody point me in the right direction? Highly appreciated.

      Thanks for the reply.
I do not reach to safe mode. When I start with a cold system, I reach till the logon screen, When you repeat the startup, ( system warmer) I do not reach that far. It is just the time the components get hot and than the safety shutdown happens. Since I do not have the schematic, I can not see which components are connected to the temp sensors to create this.

if you hear the fan run at full speed that is ok .
        red wire= 5v
check the yellow one and see how much. on the pin and in the fan.
if you don`t know check the pin and if its 3.3v try to replace the fan.
        report back after

Sorry, I stated something wrong in first post. It is not the fan that shuts down, but the complete laptop.

probe around and tell me what voltage you have on the fan!!!!

              Carried out you suggestions.
              Red wire 4,54 V
              Yellow wire 1,58V
Disconnect plug and pins on motherboard give 4,5V and 3,3V
Without the fan connected, the system still shuts down. Bearly enough time to measure voltages

                Re: MSI CX700 MS-17311, hannstar E89382

thats low but not the problem on the fan
it needs to be 5v not 4.5v
so the problem its related to the 5v supply

                  OK, Thanks.
I have to wait till I get schematics, cause for me it is to much in the dark now, I can't check components now

find some could/rust solder maybe you get lucky.
if you got uF on your multimeter start lifting up caps

I know. Did it before with Dell xps m1330 and m1530 with the bad Nvidia 8400.
Nice word for it is "reflow"

                              Dinner is served.
The problem is not soluted, but there is a change.
The fan is not so fanatic anymore and steps down some times, running at low speed until the system shuts down again. Just before that he picks up speed.
The Sis 672 gets hot and the CLK1 very hot (ICS93V8453Y) while CPU and GPU are normal.
To start the system again, one must wait a few minutes or take out and insert the plug

it looks like the NEC Tokin like capacitor problem, just replace it with 4 330uf / 2.5v tantalum capacitor.

i think that sis chip its fubar or you have a bad cap that drops down the voltage.
you still have 4.5 in the red wire? there must be 5v->5.1v
