    Re: Tuchpad repair

with touchpads sometime I find it difficult to know what brand it is so I can load the correct drivers.
I fiddled for hours to try to make the touchpad work on an old Toshiba.
It work after I cleared the CMOS and loaded the defaults.

There are some fn+key that disables touchpad. I came across some laptops with touchpad that I thought was faulty replaced them but no luck. Sometimes peoples hands are sweaty it also happens to me when I take a bath and check my laptop instantly.

I have seen touchpads work erratically because of interference from cheap and dangerous AC adapters. These adapters carry fake safety approval markings.

I second that, Ive had same thing a few times, but I have not seen one stop working altogether
come to think of it I had one that would not work at all recently, the fault was the keyboard, replaced the keyboard and the mouse worked fine again,
may be worth disconnecting keyboard and see what happens

Macbook A1706 touchpad and keyboard not working. Please help
              by B2L_Repairs
Hi guys i am new to macbook repairs (i mostly do microsoldering on iphones and android devices. I need your assistance with macbook a1706 (touchbar edition) that came in without touchpad and keyboard functionality. External keyboard and mouse does work but the keyboard and touchpad on the macbook does not work. I changed the touchpad flex, also replaced the touchpad but the issue persisted. I then measured voltage on the board and found that PIN 44-50 of the touchpad connector (J4501) got 11.2V instead of 12.6V. Those pins required 12.6v and they get their 12.6v from PPVIN_S4-TPAD_FUSE . I measure...

last night i dropped some liquid over my laptop touchpad, immediately stopped using and tried to dry it up.
the touchpad misclicks, sometimes stops working altogether

i have removed the touchpad assembly cleaned it with alcohol and brush and cotton buds.

can i fully disassemble the touchpad assembly as i suspect some liquid is still lurking inside the trackpad....

CF-20 Toughbook (mk1) Trackpad/Touchpad and USB ports not working
              by MichelinMan
              Hey guys,

Just purchased a CF-20 (mk1) supposedly was all working. However, the seller had done a fresh install of windows 10 but did not install any driver. Seller was adamant the trackpad/touchpad was working.

The touchpad/trackpad does not work. No led lights near the trackpad. The keyboard works, the USB 2 port on the base does not work, The USB 3 ports will recognise a USB 3 flashdrive but did not recognise a USB mouse. The ethernet port on the keyboard section works.

The USB 3 port on the actual tablet section works with no issues.

              Acer E1-571G Q5WVH LA-7912P Rev 1.0 Bypass Touchpad Requirement
              by uintptr
Hello, i have Q5WVH LA-7912P Rev 1.0 motherboard on my old PC. I accidently broke the touchpad things when replacing the back and up case. After doing that my motherboard going to blinking orange light on LED2. When I properly seat that touchpad thing, it occasionally boots. I think the problem is because of this. I don't have a soldering iron, so I can't solder it there. Since I'm going to use the computer as a server, I don't need a touchpad. I'm also leaving a photo for better understanding. I need to short-circuit it and make it work all the time. Which pins is for short-circuit? Thank you....
