    Lenovo T410 No Power

    hy guys!
maybe this experience what i have encountered yesterday will help someone and won`t lose time on it.

i got this t410 with i5 cpu and this guy told me he got no power on the notebook; nada, nothing , 0 ,null.
like he said he was right because from yesterday lenovo/ ibm its my new enemy.
    hp its nr2 :P
i open the lenovo and started with basic stuff try new keyboard , cpu, ram cord(adapter); NOTHING
taking out the dmm ; searching for power to keyboard cuz there is the power button 0 V on all pins :-s whaaaaat?
searching for fuses all good , mosfets all good, it was like the power entered the pin in laptop but it got lost somewhere i could not read any value on the F1 its like the voltage was lost in the case(ground) or something, the adapter still provided 20v on the pin but after the pins on the board it was lost.
NVM after i lost half a day to find something wrong i told the guy to prepare to buy another MOBO cuz i did find a little moisture on the chipset. i don`t have a big ultrasonic bath so i can clean the mobo just in case it was water dmg.
long story short (: i clean the whole mobo with isopropyl alcohol and did a reflow just in case i won`t miss anything.
What do you think happen that little f****r pw up like a champ :O
So never knew that Lenovo will downgrade the quality of the notebooks and come in the same category like all the cheap Q notebooks. pfff
now if i get a notebook with no power at all i`ll start with a reflow

have a good day all and fast repair , i hope this crap info will help someone

Yeah, just like you informed that trick worked multiple times when I run out of solutions,
worth to try, at worst case mobo becomes scrap :P

got the same computer and the same fault . will try reflowing all the board and let you know.

looking also for diagram NZM1E-7 .

according to the typical system shematic of the charger(BQ24741) the input mosfets are drive by HOST CONTROLLER .this host perhaps lose connectivity with those mosfet that could explain why reflowing the board is the solution to this issue .

Are you confident enough with a reflow in a situation like this to deem it "fixed" and return it to the customer? All the debate with reflow vs reball is really putting me off reflowing things for customers..!

you can talk in this case for hours and days but there is one case that you can be sure.
IF the crack on the solder balls manage to give you a problem but the big problems that you need to reball or change the chip, yes you can.

IF it was a isolated case because he overheated the board(GPU,CPU) and he did not care and there was no work done on the board , YES YOU CAN.
Just cook it! It's already broken.

Other possibility on why this method working is the bios battery was pulled out and left for 1/2 day resulting bios value change to default.

                Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74 power issue
                by GLISIT
                Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

                ISSUE: NO POWER

From the first mosfet 20v is not passing through, pin 4 has 19.5v and the first mosfet is a P-CHANNEL mosfet (SI7121DN) i think the pin 4 should be lower to active the 1st mosfet to allow the 20v to pass to second mosfet ive check all for shorting in the board , i did;nt find in rails, so ive check the schematic and im suspecting that, my Q61 is faulty due to its pin 1 is 0.47ohms? im not pretty sure, hope someone can help me figure out this issue.

Lenovo Thinkpad P72 EP720 NM-B723 MB - Power disabled within 2 seconds after plugging the charger
                by Mita99
                Hi,

Try to repair a Thinkpad P72 EP720 NM-B723 MB with I7-8850H processor and N18E-Q1-KB-A1 (P3200) GPU with 6GB memory. Unfortunately there is noinfo what happened to the laptop. I got it disassembled with parts missing, like keyboard, battery.

Unfortunately I have no schematic available for me (requested in the sub porum) but got the boardview file.

Symptom: after connecting to the charger the power led light up for one-two second and switch off. After a couple secons the power led light up for half a second and switch off. No battery, no IO board, no...

Help please..Lenovo ideapad 5 14itl05 power and charging problem
                by Dr.d
I have a lenovo ideapad 5 14itl05, board LA-K321P, That will only power up on Battery only, or with battery disconnected and power adapter only. If battery is connected and usb-c power plug connected. It only works on battery and will not charge. I can however force it to charge by connecting the battery from a disconnected state while the power USB c plug is powering the laptop.

Additionally....to add to this strange situation. The usb-c power plug ONLY works to power the laptop on one side when inserted into the boards power usb c plug. If you rotate it 180 degrees, the board gets...

                by SoulFreeze
                Hello All, I have a Lenovo Slim Pro 7 14ARP8 83AX, Board No NB6369A_MB_V5

Behavior - Pressing power button results in three second led blinks on the button,
Connecting charger lights up orange as normally would while charging.
Connecting charger without battery blinks orange.
                No fanspin.

                Tried flashing bios, no change.

I inspected the board and found a burnt component on the USB / Power button daughter board. I assume the comonent was an esd protection diode as it was on the USB A port power rails. removed the component but still exhibits...
