As spidey says try the bios first, also check peak current consumption from 19v. rail. (could be a secondary power supply drains too much power)

            thank you for your replays

            its an intel cpu...

yesterday i was struggling with my old willem eprom programmer pcb 3.b wich gives me hard time programming spi eproms larger than 1mb (fin future i will mod it to pcb ver 4.5) but i have managed to do so... only one bios at Acer support site, flashed, soldered eprom and now symptoms changed... would not turn at all, no reaction on power button... found some older version an acer ftp site, so i will program it again today...

            i will report my progress...

              i have flashed this bios

              ftp://ftp.support.acer-euro.com/note...30/vista/Bios/

and now charging light is on, power button has no reaction at all...

              i also tried
              http://global-download.acer.com/GDFi...CER&SC=EMEA_27

              and same thing...

flash done correctly (unsloder, erase, check blank > ok, write, verify > ok, resolder to motherboard)

              any ideas...

check EC and south crystalls, if they are good, check for lid and acin signals coming to EC. Also check power button 3.3v and while pressing goes down to 0v. if all ok, then change EC.

Acer Aspire 5 A514-55 - won't power on, no charger LED, battery not flat - usual suspects?
                  by DenK
Dear all, I am trying to troubleshoot an Acer Aspire 5 A514-55 that won't power on. I'll describe the symptoms and my findings so far, and I would like to seek guidance and suggestions on possible suspects in terms of cause/component failure. My initial thoughts are battery charger IC and/or ideal diode/MOSFET (that switches between incoming DC and battery power), but I could be totally wrong on this.
                  1) Laptop was working fine on battery, then user realised battery was running low. Plugged in AC adapter but noticed it was not charging (LED on AC adapter plug did not light). Eventually shut down

Please really2 need Help on this Acer A515-52G Motherboard Compal EH5AW LA-G521P Rev: 1A.
At first this laptop can on, keyboard light on but no display. Open the motherboard, found out the PQZ3 Mosfet and PUZ3 ic near it burn. Refer picture below. Then I replaced both. All the power rail 3.3,5,1.2, 1.35, 0.8V have power back after i turn on the laptop except for the VCC_GT rail. Voltage at Power Supply showing 0.000A before turn on, after turn on it became 0.5 0.6A. Seem cannot boot and still no display. Then I replaced the PUG1 and mosfet, but the VCC_GT still no power....
