K53SD does not POST after reflow

Hello all, this motherboard had been having issues with damaging screens (showing green tint), changed LCD and LVDS. I tried a reflow, but laptop no longer works. (from this thread)

Power ON light is on, but I can't manually turn it off. It's stuck there until I unplug power adapter. Also fan doesn't power on at all.

    Help

This is proof a reflow isn't always a/the best medicine. When done wrong or on the wrong symptom, you're further damaging the board.

Did you test VGA output to check if green tint persisted? Doesn't really matter. Right now your best option is reball GPU, and if not solved, further diagnose it.

    Good luck.

Thank you for your reply, I created a new thread to avoid confusion, since this is totally a new symptom.

I'm going to reflow GPU again, I don't have stencil for the reballing.

reflow doesnt work, first measure the lvds pairs if any of them short that means you have a short with north or vga. you have to confirm it from the schematics. And need to change that chip. But mostly north, i think you are on the wrong chip but, also damaged that one.

Does it exist a schematic for it? I tried looking for one, but couldn't find it.

phew! did a heavy reflow on gpu only, it turns on now, but with the green tint issue still.

You will need to re-ball it. If you can afford it, its usually about 100$ or so, just guessing. Or you can do it yourself. Or get a new board. Re-flow or ball doesn't work always, sometimes the GPU itself gets damaged.
              I can put text here?!

I saw some posts at one point talking about doing a reflow but I couldn't find them again so I thought that I would post this here.

I plan on reflowing the GPU of this old HP DV2500 laptop but I want to go over what I have and the steps I have to take to guarantee it will come out fine.

I have a Yihua 8786D 2in1 Rework station, flux (just some paste that I got from an old Radioshack kit), a couple rolls of Kapton tape and a $15 Thermometer +probe (a TM902C from EMR shielding Solutions if its important).
                • The paper that came with the thermometer states that the probe

                Hi,
I just replaced the battery on a Google Pixel 5.
After that the proximity sensor isn't functioning properly any more. It is constantly activated. So when playing a voice message on Whatsapp, the Screen instantly turns off.
Checking with a sensor app I can verify weird behavior of the sensor. It is triggered when nothing is near and sometimes works correctly when squeezing the phone next to the sensor hole.
The rubber seal is on again (as mentioned in various suggestions in other forums).

This smells like a cold or broken solder joint. So I'd like to reflow...

                Hello all,

I am experimenting a bit with reflowing larger components - ideally I'd like to reflow a PS4 APU or a GPU for example.

I know it's impossible to reflow such large components with just hot air so I bought a pre-heating plate, T-8280 classic Chinese machine, which seems to be working fine besides it's a little slow, which shouldn't be a big deal.

Now, my hot air station is a Aoyue 852A++ and I feel it's a bit weak when used with larger nozzle. I tried reflowing a laptop chipset using one of those large, rectangular, nozzles and I failed miserably,...

I have attempted all sumed very few reflow processes, and i need to make it better, how do you make yours to have sureness that the balls are really fully reflowed? My temptation was always to do "the slight move" touching very gently an angle, but due to some cases, but maybe 100%, where the previously half working device became totally shut off, i finally understood that the damn "move" makes the balls shorted, so what do you suggest?
                Thanks!.. Muchas gracias.....
