    HP G62 No Power- Dead

    Good Day, want a few pointers as a seek to troubleshoot

    HP G62 Intel- No power or lights ; no burns or obvious shorts on the board

    Here is what i did so far;

    Verified AC adapter /19.5 volts
    No light from dc jack- disconnect & verify with meter/ 19.5volts in

    Checked the first diode behind power connector on the board and it read ok no shorts.Check a few of the mosfets, read ok, thinking i may have overlooked a bad cap or resistor in the power in circuitry.Any ideas or schematics on this?
    Will appreciate as i try to move forward with it.Will add pics shortly

    i repaired hundreds of g2 with the same problem like yours, mostly BIOS IC Problem

    I just remove the
    1. Bios IC
    2. Plug in AC
    3. Press power on button several times
    4. unplug the AC
    5. Put your bios IC back
    6. and Turn in on again

                      you will still need to flash it with latest g62 bios

                        by using the bios re-programmer?

                          Yeah you can get cheap ones on ebay that will do the job or a more expensive Willem programmer.

                                    Hi, its bios failure, i had it many times, the thing is that there are different bios files from the hp website, if you flash the wrong one it will still be dead (also no light at the power socket). Some of the files are not meant to be flashed directly with the programmer they are oversized, the rom file has to be exactly the same size of the bios memory.
