DELL PP37L battery charging problem

hey guys,

got this laptop,
its booting from AC adaptor(original), but doesn't charge the battery at all,
in windows xp i can see the the battery level is on 0% but it doesn't say
charging,

i think its a mainboard problem and not the battery as i bought a replacment battery but its the same on the new (not original one).
the battery has some power left 21% but it's not charging at all
(it came in with 30%).

and the laptop works with the battery, any tips on testing and fixing the mainboard?

if any pics, or part number, model numbers are needed, i will upload them as soon as possible.

(whole mainboard replacement is not an option- don't worth the money)

I've seen that happen with really cheap Chinese batteries. Or did you order one straight from the manufacturer?

got a cheap one,
i there any possible way to find out if the charging circuit is working before contacting the seller, (got it from ebay)

I'm not sure how you would do that. Unfortunately when you see a battery for that price it's usually too good to be true You could at least send it back and get a refund if you just received it

don't worry about the battery cost, i will ship it back if its bad,
but there must be a way of testing voltages or shorts on the mainboard.
i don't want to order another battery and have the same output.
