Compaq 610 white screen

Hi, i got Compaq 610 with white screen only, on external output picture is fine, but how can now i be sure if flex cable is bad or LCD. It is LED LCD. Isthere any way to test LCD? I try folding a little flex cable but no change.

I think only by substitution see if you can spot a fuse on the panel board

i see 2 fuse (F101 and F201) and they are OK

What dc voltage do you get at both ends of the fuses with ref to ground?

chick the inverter may be inverter problume

it is the LED LCD, no inverter.

on one Fuse i get 19V, and another fuse 3.5V

I think you will have to ohms test (continuity) each trace through the cable pin to pin

are all cable paralel? for ex. #1 on one side is #1 on other?

If its a flat ribbon cable - yes - you can usually see the traces?- you will soon find out if you check it.

Edit - sorry thinking of a tv lvds but yes the pins on each end in the connectors should be in the same order.

i check them, but they are not parallel, and for one wire i could not find a match. I uploaded the picture of LCD when ON, maybe it would help to find problem.

looks like a bulb is failing at one end -does it always look black there.
There is one yellow pixel line which is possibly panel damage - is that always in the same place - does it move at all if you wiggle the cable?
Perhaps a picture of the cable and close up of the connectors would help.

Blast - keep forgetting it is Led lit ignore the bulb bit.

My friend (owner of notebook) say that problem first begin with that yellow line, and after a 2-3 month whole screen is white.

Yes it is always on the same place every time when i start it. I try to wiggle the cable but no effect, nothing changed.

This lcd do not have bulb as it is LED, no inverter.

Its already a LED problem..im probably sure for that..

So i need to change lcd pannel, just wanted to be shure what is bad lcd or flex.

could be faulty screen or flex cable
my guess its screen failure
can you swap a screen from another unit just to try, before buying one

EDIT, daft question but have to ask, can we take it that you have cleaned and reseated connections to screen and M/board???
