I have another one of those 13" Macbook Pros (2010) that have no power.
Pressing the power button does nothing. No fan spin, lights, nothing. I have checked the power button operation (pins 5 and 29 on the keyboard socket) and it drops the 5v on pin 5 to zero when pressed. I guess its working.
The fuse near the power plug is good as well as the other 3? green fuses.
The charger seems to work normally. Green, then orange, then green again, showing a charged battery (I guess). Tried two chargers.
I get an occasional 19v at the battery. It seems that the charging circuit intermittently checks and sends a burst to the fully charged battery.
I tried a reflow of the Nvidia chip and no change.
These boards are selling used for about $300 and it seems to be a widespread problem.
Could it still be the Nvidia chip?
Any other ideas to diagnose this?
Thank you much for your expertise.
