    Acer Aspire 4520 Power Problem

I'm facing Acer Aspire 4520 With AMD Pros and nVidia chipset. The unit just turn on for a sec and off, no matter on battery or adapter or both the symptom just the same.
I try to remove and reseat everything but didnt work, the only thing different is when I remove the processor the unit keep powered on.
Anyone can help me to solve this problem?

nVidia. That says it all. Reflow time.

He's right, it's the mcp76m soldering problem. But reflow will not do on this machine, go for the reballing or the notebook will stop working on a few weeks.

Re: Acer Aspire 4520 Power Prob - acer experts please.

Hi, I now have the same exact issue with an aspire 4530. Initially had nothing except the battery light indicator (working / charging) .. no turn on at all.. The Ti TPS51116 was bad - replaced it & now I have this exact behavior.. press power button .. lights up for 1 second and then off .. same behavior regardless of whether AC or battery... most of the fets & caps seem to check good.
        so:
        "it's the mcp76m soldering problem.."

Is this pretty much the next step 99% of the time? 5 & 3 volt standby are good. Should there be any other constant standby voltages present on this unit? The 1.8Vsus is generated by this same (replaced) chip but it doesn't appear to be present in standby until after main power on button signal is generated .. true? Can anybody confirm this? It appears to require a 'wrap around' signal on S3 & S5 after turn on to stay on. I'm also wondering about the CPU health.

        Thanx.
